[MERGED] Character Alerts

I've been doing more auctioning lately and am finding out how frustrating it is to meet up.

I have another suggestion; in the Friends tab where you can "Whisper XXX", "Ignore XXX", or "Delete XXX from Friends list", why not add "Alert me when Character XXX logs in"?

Sometimes I just want a quick H/h session without people knowing I logged in (other times I log in just to chat)
Unless we get a "Log-in as offline" option then I'm going to have to /notsign

I think this should instead be a toggled option. Many other games automatically notify the player when someone on their friend list logs in; why doesn't Guild Wars?

I would love that option! Especially if it can be toggled on or off. I have told myself that I wish there was such a thing.

Love the idea, tis rather annoying clicking back and forth on the friends list just to see if someone has come online.

A must for toggle or able to log on as offline.

i think this would be very nice, ive been wanting it for a long time, however with one change: both the players have to have each other on thier freinds lists. There is always that annoying guy that pesters you with questions and if he knows your online you are in hell for longer than when he decides to look on his freinds list :P

i dont have any problem just hitting N to bring up friends every now and then

Sounds like an excellent idea. I've had times where I PM a friend "when did you log on" and the response is something like "3 hours ago"

No! sometimes I put my status to offline just after i log in to avoid being whispered too much when I come online.

Agree with Tosha. I do the same thing at times.

I'll agree if they put in a "sign in as offline" feature. A lot of times I'm cranky and don't want to talk to people.

There are a couple of people who play and love to stalk me (in-game and out-of-game) and while the ignore list is there for a reason, I can't keep them there due to its small size. So the last thing I need is something that will allow them to be told when I'm online.

Okay, another idea. You know how you got 2 seperate sections for Offline/Online friends? Well, I think it would be nice to have an option (yes, you can toggle it on and off), to where a message would pop up. Something like this.


X Dip Doggy X (Elite XexX) has logged in.

X Dip Doggy X (Elite XexX) has logged off.

Heh, that's for character alert, at which point you would have to type in something, I think.

Much easier for just to do it for your friends -_-

I'd sign it, as long as it's a toggle option. I'd also like to see this for Guild Rosters.

<Player> [<your guild>] has logged on.
<Player> [<your guild>] has logged off.
<Player> [<your guild>] has set their status to <status here>.

And for friends, just take out the tag.


However, it MUST be a TOGGLE option.
