Yea, I leveled it level 20, with it being dead most of the time and me doing all the damage... That should make it a dire...

When it got level 20, and I renamed it cause it didn't say dire... It still didn't say dire...

Is this a bug? Because I'm not happy that I spent time leveling and it didn't even level into what it was suppose to...

Basically my pet is the same size as when I capped it... and has no name modification...

Any answers/thoughts/suggestions?

good wiki guide for pet leveling your pet, it must do lots of dmg to become dire. good luck on your next 1

it has to do most of the dmg for it to become dire
it being dead most of the time and getting healed and rezed alot will lean more towards hearty which is actually larger then dire, chances are if it said nothing it my not have hit any evolutions

the easiest way to make the rainbow dire is go into your HoM
make it agro on you and stay near odgen (NPC) who will auto heal u, let it attack you.
i had it attacking me for 3 hours before i capped to be sure it would have done enough dmg.
then go out on them junduu (or what ever it is) wurms, when u hit the wastes the pet will die but won't take dmg, just killing stuff and it will lvl him.
at 11 he should be agressive rainbow phoenix, if he doesn't start over and let the phoenix do more dmg to you.

Never thought of that, now I know how I will make a dire pet easily without adding 1k+ deaths to my counter!

You don't even need to go solo with the peat to make it dire. Just pick a Beastmaster build with the hihest possible Beast Mastery attribute, use it normally to deal damage and done, it becomes dire.

Dire is pretty easy to get.

Go outside Umbral Grotto, take that race quest from the norn guy, and kill the level 30 Snow Wurms. I got mine from level 5 to 11 in about 30 minutes.

How do you guys get hearty/elder, though?...

I got mine to aggressive with the method above, then took my pet on a bunch of Ursan runs... now it's still level 20 aggressive. Don't suppose I can still get it into elder?

Nope, no more evolutions.

I don't do anything special when levelling pets - just play the game normally with a pet in tow an see how it goes. My Phoenix went ...argh, brain failure - whatever the opposite of Dire is; the extra health one

It's as big as a house ^^

Use /namepet to reset the name? Sometimes the name changes don't register when a pet evolves.

You can easily level a pet outside Gates of Kryta to Dire. It's nearly foolproof.

I've made my one 10 minutes ago absolutely easily from 5 to 11 in hardmode tihark runs XD

and it is aggressive now... getting per kill of each Skree 300 Exp, and the pet got naturally per kill far more exp ...

imo most simplest way to get pets most quickly from 5 to 11 aggressive with 12/12/3 BM/Expert build and agrressive damage dealing pet build around Feral lunge, rest pet protective skills and never rampage alone ...

combine such a run with a hero scroll and you get even far more exp per run ... and 1 run is very quick done in about like 10-15 mins or so

ok , it might have just been the late hour, but i belive the phoenix will show in your hall every time you dont have a pet quipped already

so sell that puppy to the trainer and grab another one

Can whether a pet is dire or hearty change after it reaches level 20?
