Questions, advice, and discussions about Lucky
MagmaRed
Hello all, please answer, discuss, and advise here. Keep to the topic please, or we will end up with a topic full of cats.
I have gotten my main to 26 maxed titles. I know the last 4 are time/money titles, but only 3 of them have I decided on. Drunkard, Sweet Tooth, and Party Animal. Those are easy, I just have to buy or earn the items for them. The last, however, is between Lucky, Unlucky, Luxon, Wisdom, and Treasure Hunter. Wisdom I could buy, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much time buying unIDed items from mostly bots. Treasure Hunter is also expensive, and I don't enjoy things like Chest Running. Luxon could be done, and I will work on increasing my rank in the title, but I'm not sure I am willing to max that one. That leaves Lucky/Unlucky left.
Now, what are the best ways to work on Lucky? I know 9 Rings, but that doesn't happen often. I know lockpick retention works. Is there anything else to do for working on Lucky? What is the fastest way? Currently, I am thinking Normal Mode chest running in areas like Old Ascalon, Plains of Jarin, or Sunqua Vale. Retention rate in NM is quite high, so I would easily get 250 points per use. However, it will be slow, and offer nothing else. Is there a place I could do this and still have high retention rate, but get better items?
So, what advice do you have for someone wanting to max Lucky?

I'd go for nm 600 chests if you got enough cash rather than running low lvl ones which spawn rarely compared to chests in Snowmen's, Gyala etc...
(And you'll get some ranks in hunting chests getting some more retaining % )
With low ranks in both titles, like 2/3, you're close to 50% already even if honestly i dont always believe in the retain % thingy

Necron I I
With risk to sound noob , i'd suggest doing the eotn chests(may drop something nice...i think) but if you want my oppinion i'd reccomend maxing luxon.More fun and you can either sell the Z keys you get or go for the Z chest, after all, you never know what's inside

At least it's what I'm doing.

It's account wide and can be done. It's fine.
Just keep a lockpick stack with you, and open every single chest you find in your way.
And when available, leave your character sitting the whole weekend in the boardwalk.

The nine rings is obviously the best option so if i would go for that title id make sure i got atleast 100k ready to blow on tickets, leave the comp on for the entire weekend and relogin every once in a while because after 10 hours you be kicked for being afk or to long in a single zone, whatever the reason.
The low area chest run isnt a bad idea in itself, all you need to do basicly is giving all your heroes CHARGE and just run the chests, seeing you are a ranger you could take escape yourself and that should speed up the runs.
Yes the low end areas chests are horrid but they do offer the highest chance of retain, which means less lockpicks to buy and more points.

Now that i think of it, nvm the Snowmen idea imo, i didnt check this but the fact they are lvl 15 seems to ruin most of the drops. Unless i've had very bad luck, i always get 29 hp 14^50s +1/19% ANA 19% ...
The rings are only a plus, you have to retain picks as well
Besides it also depends of how much you got
Those Kurzick/Luxon titles cant get you lotsa money for other shopping titles but aint that good for mental health ^^

Please don't be an AFKer in the Nine Rings for this title. Otherwise, I might have to consider how much I'd hate you when I'm racing for highscores.
Others have posted their ideas on how to go for the Lucky title, but I noticed that in your last list of titles, you didn't mention the Kurzick reputation track. Are you not interested in doing HFFF?

If you're into PvP, specifically AB, Luxon would be easy to get but wouldn't really yeild much a profit.
Lucky/Unlucky would probably be good to get, just take full advantage the next time an event comes around, such as Nine Rings. The others above have suggested what to do so I have nothing else to say.

I do plan to afk the 9 rings when they come again, but hope to get a lot done before that. I think Plains of Jarin are the best spot for running the low level chests, as they can drop inscriptions at least. It seems that there are usually 2 chests there, and I know most of the spots they spawn. I do open chests I find in areas that offer Treasure Hunter points, but otherwise I won't open them unless I had a key drop, or my retention rate is 70% or higher. I'm rank 3 Lucky now, and rank 3 Treasure Hunter as well.
Does anyone know of a place with low level chests that has a larger rate of discovery? A zone with a small area, but always has a certain number of chests?

I'm in very much the same boat as you. 26 maxed titles, luxon not kurz etc.
I too am going after drunk(6200+ minutes) sweets(5800+ points) and party(780 points)
I decided to do nm snowman dungeons runs for treasure hunter. Basically, I wanted the statue for my hom, and while I'm maxing that I'm getting the lucky, unlucky, wisdom titles as well. A nm run takes about 10 minutes total, and gets you 5 or so chests. While the weapons are junk, I get occasional max mods that help pay for lockpicks. I set a goal of 50 chests a night (that's 10 runs roughly) and currently have a 63% retain (tho mine is floating more around 30% overall ) I know you don't want to do this, but it's not as bad as you think and you can drink while you're doing it so you feel like you're at least accomplishing something else (plus the end chest gives you booze, sweets, and party items). Basically these last 4 titles are gonna be a grind in some way or other, that's just what I chose. gl either way

The only realistic way to max Lucky is chest running. Starter level chests make economical sense only when you have already maxed treasure hunter and have r3 or r4 in lucky (don't remember the exact breaking point but that's about where it is). Considering that you're getting 2 titles at the price of one, chest running is a very feasible option. Treasure Hunter + Lucky, run 600g chests until max Treasure Hunter, then starter chests until max Lucky. Treasure Hunter + Wisdom, run 600g chests until about r4 in Treasure Hunter and Lucky, then switch to HM chests until max Treasure Hunter and Wisdom.
While maxing any of the other mentioned titles is a challenge, maxing Unlucky goes directly into the twilight zone. You'll have to run HM chests long enough to max Treasure Hunter three times over

If you don't want to buy (= sit in a town clicking the mouse) a title, the fastest 4 to GWAMM (treasure hunter, lux, kurz and lucky) take almost three times longer than the first 26 by my back-of-the-envelope calculation.

Easyest way get lucky/unlucky is chest hunting. and probably if you do them that way you get treasure maxed way before lucky/unlucky..

It amazes me people have that much money to burn on titles, and not more constructive things, like giving it all to me.
Go for whatever these people tell you.

I am in a similar boat as you are. Im at 28 maxed titles with Party Animal left as the easy one ( cmon GW 3rd bday ) , I chose maxing Kurzick for my 30th even though I was Luxon. I found a Kurz alliance that owned a town so I get cheap lockpicks. HFF is rediculous fast but mind numbing, I usually do some myself then there are always people selling runs for 50-100 per that I jump on.
To the other ideas.
Lucky will probably take quite awhile especially noting your low treasure tier as well, which means a lot of broken lockpicks. You might be best off running in Archipelagos / Gyala hatchery with Luxon keys or Melandrus Hope for kurzick until your chest title gets higher.
My chest/lucky titles are a passive title grind for me atm, but when I do decide to work on it I found Fronis Irontoes dungeon in NM to be a good place. It has a few "bonuses". Zero risk of death , perma speed boost with Kilroys shout, even if chest is at very end it takes about 45 seconds and the drops are inscribable so you have a shot of making your money back
