I read somewhere that you can use defensive stance to block for healing signet? But won't defensive stance end when you use healing signet? Or does it only end after healing signet's two-second activation time is complete? Thanks in advance.

Edit oops, I mean defensive stance.

Stances are instant. Use Healing Signet, then hit your stance. You'll have about 0.25 seconds of no coverage, unless your reaction time is extremely poor. Stances and Shouts can both be used WHILE using another skill. So even an E/W could be casting the 5 second Meteor Shower, and activate Shield Stance before it finishes.

So what does it mean when it says that it ends if you use a skill? Does it only count the beginning and the end of the skill?

When a stance says it ends when you use a skill, it ends once the skill completes. The stance will be in effect during the entire activation of Healing Signet until it completes or is interrrupted. I've used various defensive stances(Wary, Bonetti's, Defensive, etc.) to cover Healing Signet while solo-farming, and that is how they function.

I find that Wary stance is extremely effective as a block for Healing signet since it grants 100% blocking vs skills. This means that interupt skills will fail unless they are spell/signet based.

Yeah but Wary stance doesn't prevent much damage, so you can die from using healing signet. I was think of using disciplined stance to block for healing signet.

So I can activate defensive stance first and then use healing signet? Defensive stance will still be able to block the entire healing signet activation? Or is it like MagmaRed said that I have to activate healing signet before defensive stance?

I am quite confident that you can test that yourself in the Isle of Nameless with those skills on your bar for the correct activation sequence needed to achieve your desired result.

guess it is already answered, it is possible to cover with the stance

but efficiency wise, don't do it

defensive stance = bad, healing sig = bad

denfensive stance + healing sig = bbbbbaaaadddddd

No, defensive stance will end if you use Healing Signet. First activate Healing Signet and then use your defensive stance right after. Stances and Shouts can be used during skills.

1. It's hard to justify healsig (used alone) now that lion's comfort has been buffed (and the rest of tactics has been nerfed to heck).

2. If you're going to use 2 skillslots for a self heal, it's time to look at the dervish options. Vital boon + signet of pious light is very popular.

1. True but better leave self heal alone and take a monk. RA=Hope for a monk
2.Most dervishes use AoB and [insert 4 self heals here].

Thats not how it works(you can use the stance during the signet, but you dont need to), I'm looking at my warrior testing it as I type. The stance only ends once healing signet finishes casting. Bonneties Defense, is the same way.

You CAN enter the stance first, then cast the signet and it will be covered for the duration of the activation. The stance will then end when healing signet is finished.

Also Lions Comfort is nice, till there's nothing to build adrenaline off of or you get your adrenaline denied through blocking, hexes, visage, blackouts ect. They're both viable, just different.

Not everyone (like the OP) has Nightfall, and access to Lions Comfort.

You hopefully have a monk of sorts on your team.
