Re: Regarding the release of Guild Wars 2 Art later this week... Hello, Yes, according to the "inside source", the Art will be available in-game as part of a large game update at the end of the week (I don't want to spoil it for any of the fans, but it has something to do with the Xunlai You might also want to share this with some of the fansites - As of typing this, I'm in contact with the "inside source", and he has just been telling me about how GW2's "instanced areas" will work. According to him, the instanced areas will be extremely dynamic, where there are no fixed "parties". Instead, approaching people in the explorable will allow you to "join" their party and receive their quests (providing they are of a similar level to you). Another feature of these explorables is that loot is only assigned to people who contribute to allies / help kill enemies in the area, in order to prevent loot stealing. If there are only a few people in the area, the area will be filled by AI allies, which will also team up dynamically (unless they are on their own "quests"). He mentioned that the revamped graphics engine already looked "fantastic", from what he has seen - he said the game would use the latest DX10 shaders, but would apparently easily run on a DX9 PC from now. He mentioned that "the lowest end settings of GW2 graphics will look roughly like the maximum settings on Guild Wars: Eye of the North". I hope you find this information exciting, and watch out for a Destructoid article with some more juicy information inside! Regards, Collette Bennett - Destructoid.com |
