I am currently running a 55 SV build trying to get a few elite ranger tomes from Johon the Oxflinger, but his wolves are tearing me apart. I am able to stand there and tank them all day in NM but those 7 wolves destroy me in HM. I don't understand...
Even though they have interrupts, I have yet to be interrupted by them... they're able to attack so fast they overwhelm my regen/prot spirit - and very quickly.
The only way I have been able to SV Johon is when I hit him w/ it and then kite around while waiting for it to recharge. This shouldn't be though... with prot spirit and healing breeze, I have +10 regen... I should be able to tank 8 enemies, shouldn't I?

Everything Attacks Faster in HM.From what I've experienced,Shielding Hands or Spirit Bond are usually good counters.Shadow of Fear on the Wolves would also help,as would Meekness.

I get hit by the interrupts from others sometimes... I still fail to understand how they interrupt a skill that takes 1 second, or even sometimes .25 seconds (when they interrupt protective spirit), to cast... it baffles my mind... unless its just plain dumb luck that they time it PERFECTLY...

i've been able to take him down easily with SS - as it lets the Wolves scatter, and their interrupts are a joke. SS + IP or Pain Inverter trolls him - you can also kill Elsnil Frigidheart on the same run with the same build.

I have done countless SV runs through most of that area (Ice Imps, Elementals, Stone Wolves, and the like) Unfort I have yet to ever seen Johon's bow drop the stingy fawker. I have gotten several Frigidheart's, but never Johons. Just an oddity I am sure

600/smite kills him pretty well, i just bring you move like a dwarf to interupt troll.
i've also been able to kill him with a mobious/deathblossom sin, using crit defences and crit agility and mystic regen.

I like Fuzzy's idea about using SS as it does indeed make the wolves scatter and then throw IP on him... I might give that a try. Thanks.

330hp rt/mo can solo the pack and boss no problems with Pain Inverter... boss will be last one standing, but just finish him off. can also farm out all the froze elementals along with ele boss in a 10-15 minute run...

I've farmed with Monk (SS+IP+Pain Inverter) Rit (330hp+Pain inverter) and Ele (E/A ftw)
It's not an easy farm, but I don't consider it hard either. I've tried it 10 times , still no drop. He seems to be one of those greedy bosses that never drop a green

it isnt that hard you can use fuzzy taco's 55 sv necro and he can get the ranger +wolves + ice things +the ice boss frigid heart or what ever his name is
