Guild leader succession?
TheGuildWarsPenguin
When the guild leader is automatically demoted after being inactive for more than 1 month, is the person who becomes leader chosen at random or is it something like the most active officer, last officer that logged on, etc?
Ghostcell
not sure if it auto goes to an officer or not, buts its the person that has been in the guild the longest

I didn't even know such a feature existed O.o

Unless this has been changed recently, the time limit is much greater than one month. I used to be in a guild whose leader was absent for nearly five months and she remained atop the list.
Rebelor
i think it goes to the most senior officer

Basically if your guild leader has been gone for a month or more, the most active person gets auto designated by the system as the guild leader. Usually it will start with officers. If they've been inactive, it will just go to a member instead.

When they implented it the way it worked was it promoted the most senior officer, meaning the one that had been in the guild the longest. I thought it happened after three months not one, but I could be wrong.
Boogey Mancer
it is the most senior officer and it after 45 days

this is exactly what happened to me, our founder and leader, is in the service, went active duty, and in 3 months of inactivity, i was AUTO promoted to leader. i am not the oldest member of this guild, i was an officer, i was the MOST active player in my guild. i believe this is how ANET decided to make me the leader. i hope this helped and answered any questions.

I just read the wiki, and guess what I found?
"If the leader has not logged on for two months, he or she will be replaced with the officer who is online the most often. If there are no officers in the guild, then the leader will be replaced by the member who is online the most often."
