By now, we've all heard the news that Gaile is changing roles in AreaNet. I think the farewell ceremony this weekend should end with the permanent placement of a small frog statue in LA to commemorate the occasion.
GM's are a vital part of any online game, bridging the gap between the devs and the community. I think it fitting that the world in which we play reflects the history of that community. This is an occasion of note, and a simple remembrance in the form of a statue would be in order. No effect on gameplay, no new tradeable items to upset the economy, just a simple decoration.
Edit: at the time of this posting, the news of Andrew Patrick changing roles had not yet been posted on the main site. His contributions to the PvP game have been every bit as important as Gaile's efforts in PvE. Similar honors are definitely called for. However I recommend starting a new thread for that topic. We're not playing favorites here, or trying to deprive anyone else of their well earned glory. I leave that issue to people who play more PvP than I do. They are the most familiar with his work and are better suited to recommend how he should be recognized. Now that it's been said, please keep the thread on topic.
Edited by Celestial Beaver: Title changed to reflect thread content.
New Monument. Monument to Gaile Gray.

on topic, yea... we need something that will stand out forever to comemorate her forever. she did a damn good job for all the crap people made her go through (i.g., flaming her, talking bad about her, ect). she did an awesome job. so, yea, i just hope this farewell thingie this weekend will forever leave a mark for her.

...on second thoughts, maybe this "special dungeon" shouldn't be a dungeon, but should be "The Northlands" full of lvl 25 frogs. Party Animal points AND nostalgia...who could resist?

Who knows, maybe a year from now some newb will ask "WTF, there a frog statue here?!", and we can explain, recounting the tales of our little froggy friend who used to appear and talk with us. How people turned out in the hundreds just to catch a glimpse of it.
After a while in a game like this, you've got your preferred armor, you know your builds, you've got an awesome looking weapon etc. Eventually everyone gets there. What's important then is being able to say "I was here when this happened", "I saw the history of this game as it was being made". When everyone you know has done everything else, what sets you apart are your experiences. This is a great way to remember them. A way for us who are here now to remember what went into making the world that we see. A way to spark curiosity and intrigue in those who come after us.
Yes, it's a monument to Gaile, but it's as much for us as it is for her.
P.S. Thanks Celestial Beaver for adding the poll

I don't think there should be a frog statue, but rather, a statue of Gaile's ranger. Perhaps with the frog next to her. I think it should appear in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. I don't think there should be a /kneel effect. After all, we don't want ANYTHING possibly ruining the economy anymore, like a secret party animal point dropping frog lair dungeon might do. Gaile has done an incredible job at her role, and I don't think that should be forgotten. Long from now when everyone's playing Guild Wars 2 except for the few who will always play Guild wars, someone will ask, "Hey, what's that statue if?", and someone older and wiser will tell them the tale of how Gaile was the greatest CRM to ever walk the lands, and that statue was dedicated to her on April 6, 2008 when she withdrew from her position as CRM.

/not signed. Gaile Gray doesn't fit in with the lore of the GW universe.
For every one who's a fan, there's another who doesn't care for her (to put it mildly) Me, I'm indifferent towards the work she did -it was her job and she did it, that's all. (but gotta give props for a couple of times where she had to put in the OT to take care of issues - the monk strike and the duping fiasco, as examples)
