[skill]Shattering Assault[/skill] ftw. Also a number of the "adjacent foe" Dervish skills will, as with any low health/high regen build, own you faster than you can say "Prot Spirit!"
For what you're looking for, yes, it can probably stand in the middle of massive mobs and dance. For practical purposes, other 55s or "invincitank" builds are more effective.

People will just not attack you and kill all of your team mates, which, btw, you can do nothing to save because all you have is a bunch of defense garbage.
When the rest of your team is dead, you deal maybe 1 DPS, so how the **** are you going to win?
Seriously, if you don't pose as a severe threat or impedance to the other team, then WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO KILL YOU?
