I have several invitations from rated PvP guilds, and I like them a lot, but I sort of wish to move away from serious PvP, and back to PvE. Unfortunately, none of my friends do PvE much anymore, so I'm left searching for a guild.
I have a great deal of demands, and my demands are selfishly motivated by negative previous experiences. I completely understand if you find them overwhelming, and I'm prepared to receive no responses. However, if you think that my demands are reasonable, and if you perceive from these demands that I might be a solid fit in your guild and alliance, then you should send me a PM so that you can interview me further. I want a guild that is right for me in every respect, and I want to be a strong fit for the guild that I join. I can gladly redirect you to previous guild leaders and officers for reference, and they should be glad to answer any questions.
Here are my demands:
Your guild must not be a huge glob of indistinct faction farmers that run crap builds and repeatedly push "Enter Battle." You know, the sort of people that always think they singlehandedly defeated six people at once using a stance tank or a "self-healing" dervish. In the same respect, if your guild is a bunch of high-maintenance, self-serving, elitists that push their credentials in _format here_, that's not very interesting to me either.
Your guild must primarily comprise people around my age. I'm 21, so we're talking plus or minus five years. I simply don't relate as much to younger or older people. In the same respect, you should be diverse and not actively discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, politics, nationality, etc. A guild predominantly of 21 year old White Protestant college-bound males of a single political orientation and nationality is frankly a bit underwhelming to me.
Your guild must have a reasonable number of active people (20-40), and only active people. Every guild to date that I've joined is either tiny and overly closeknit (10-15 people), hugely inactive (15 of 60 people) or inordinately huge (80 to 100 people). Your guild has to be tiny enough that I can clearly identify people as individuals. It also has to be large enough that my options aren't strictly limited to the same handful of individuals, or that I can be asocial every one in a while and just play alone without people asking me about it.
Everyone in your guild must be on a roughly equal field. It very much frustrates me when someone is clearly out of place for some reason. Maybe they're completely inexperienced, maybe they're clearly not as mature, or maybe they're just a complete loner that never speaks to anyone; ultimately, the reasons are unimportant.
Your guild must be stable; firstly because it speaks very bluntly on the prospect of your continued status, and secondly because it promotes familiarity, which is very important for me. In the same respect, your alliance must also be stable, and the alliance guilds must be similar to your guild in stability and characteristics. Your guild and alliance chats must be devoid of constant requests for help on menial tasks or constant implorations for various handouts (runs, items, gold, fame, whatever). Genuine requests for help on tougher tasks should not be ignored.
Here are things that would be nice:
It would be nice if you have a Ventrilo server, because I don't like TeamSpeak nearly as much. However, I have both programs, and I can use TeamSpeak.
It would be nice if you were a Luxon guild so that I can continue on the Luxon title track, but I don't honestly care that much.
It would be nice if you aren't super-uptight about cursing or crude humor; I don't use stronger language in textchat, and I don't constantly crack scatological jokes, but my humor can occasionally be indelicate, and I do sometimes curse over VoIP when I'm not in the presence of children.
It would be nice if you're American, but I play during the European afternoons and evenings also, so that isn't a huge problem.
In terms of gameplay, I do everything seriously, but I don't commit to a specific playstyle. This means that I'm not an ideal member if you're fairly unidimensional and narrow in focus (e.g. title hunting, elite area farming). Most people don't realize that my patience is actually really bad; I get distracted fairly easily, and constant repetition bores me. I enjoy a bit of everything though.
If you're still reading at this point, then I eagerly anticipate your message.
