I use to because I love the music, but it drowned out people when I was on ts. I don't listen to any music when I play, I usually have the tv going and half watch that.

Buys guild was May 6, 2005. June 1st, 2005 guild wars music turned off and it hasn't been turned on since xD
Brianna
Guild Wars music got old in the Prophecies days, but I still turn it on very rarely for good old memories.
But mostly I have Winamp up and I'm listening to my own music.

Felixious
I listen to it, but sometimes i don't feel like fantasy, and thats when i smack my normal tunes on.
Clobimon
I listen to it, but I have it on low. I typically have the tv on while I'm playing though. I have to play with some kind of ingame sounds going and it just doesn't feel right to me to have other music playing. That's just me. I also didn't get my Directsong for Factions going until well after NF came out - forgot. So, that additional music is still kinda newish for me when I have reason to go there.
Makan
I used to, but now, rarely.

I've actually tried playing the game with the music off, and it simply doesn't seem right. I guess for me it's part of the experience, which allows you to "get lost" in the game.
Greghed
i used to a lot but sometimes in prophecies to relive the old days
Phaedra Firesoul
i still listen to it once in a while but it gets menotinous when your on for several hours so i turn the music off but leave the sound effects and listen to my itunes library.

I always have the music on, and I love it.
BUT! (Yes the big "but")
THE FREAKING VOLUME IS SCREWED! I have to turn the rest of my ingame volumes to 25-50% to actauly hear the music. I also have to turn the volume on my computer up. Then when somone messages me via AIM, I get ear splitting AIM noises.

See it yourself.
Let me help yu with that one:
- Go to DirectSong page. Download the latest ds_GuildWars.dll and GuildWars.ds. It can be done by executing any music installation program form the "My downloads" section. Since you already have the licenses, you won't spend them up, but download the latest versions of the files, it also wroks when they upgrade music for lower Kbps to higer ones, like when they upgraded to 320Kbps. Check Directsong support for more details.
- Once downloaded, go to the Directsong folder and look for a file called GuildWars.ds. Open it with any plain text editor, like the Windows Notepad.
- Replace ALL "0]" strings in the file for "]".
- Done. the volume is now fixed for you.
You can also replace anything between the braquets for ceroes ([1200] -> [0]) but my way is quite faster.
It seems that in some machines, specially laptop integrated soundcards, the volume settings work very bad, reducing too much the volume.
The number between braquests states how much the volume for a certain song must be reduced while playing it, so if you increase that number, you decrease the volumen, and if you decrease it, you increase the volume.
My 'fix' is the fastest one, since it's done with a simple 'replace all'. But manually replacing each value for 0 would also do.
I also added to the file the following lines in bold:
# Divine Path
L351:Guild Wars Factions Original Soundtrack/24_Bonus_Track_4.wma[60],Guild Wars Factions Original Soundtrack/01_Guild_Wars_Factions_Theme.wma[60]
# Bone Palace
L438:Guild Wars Nightfall Collector's Edition/01_The_Bone_Palace.wma[50]

That way the track 'The Bone palace' is played in the Bone Palace.
See it yourself.

Vote for making GW music in-game selectrable.
I liked Shing Jea music, so when I'm playing in GWEN I can still listen to what I like.
Is so smort D:

www.pandora.com owns GWs music.
when you can customize the music channels to play only the songs you like and have as many channels as you want I even have Guild wars related music as a channel I forget what I named it to find the similar music, but it still rocks.

No.
It's not my preferred style of music, so I've substituted for my own pretty much since I started playing. Songs like "My Cold Sea" by Arcana, "Of Broken Stone" by Dargaard, or "De Profundis (out of the depths of sorrow)" by Dead Can Dance is more to my tastes, and in my opinion sets a more epic mood.

Ah... I forgot to tell. Sometimes I mess up a litle with the GuildWars.ds file, amking my own playlists with my own music.
It's quite nice sometimes, specially during EotN areas, where you have dynamic music. If you choose correcltly the tracks, you get... interesting results, XDD.

Nope, but I have the Morrowind Soundtrack playing instead :P

OH, yeah. In one of my experiemts, I changed all Echovald tracks for the "Odyssey" track of the Granado Espada sountrack, by Kubota Osamu.
Let' me search...
Here it is:

Arborstone was quite fun with that music, indeed, XDDDD.

Foobar2000 loaded with 800 playlists from my 50gb mp3-collection. Why would I listen to the same few GW-tracks over and over and over for 3000+ hours.
mazey vorstagg
I have bought all the music from Directsong and play it using WMP so I get all the tracks all the time. As well as music from his other albums.

Guild Wars Rap is FTW!!!..... I mostly turn off all sound when im calling for HA. For PvE its either pop off of shoutcast or Trance off my comp.
Necro Quink
Bought GW (dont know date anymore), one hour after installation i turned it off. Never turned it on since. It's really annoying when you try to watch tv with the annoying sounds on the background from GW.
Lord Xeshm
Vent and Winamp are what I listen too when playing GW.

Olim Chill
I always keep it on, but at a subtle level. I never let it compete with the sound effects.
Horseman Of War
The sudden loudness of battle music has forced me to find alternatives.
www.di.fm
I listen to goa psy channel when I play gw 90% of the time these days.

I leave it on most of the time unless it is late at night and people are sleeping...
Barbie
I turn it off and put some atmospheric gothic/black metal music most of the time...
majestikk
it was only on for about an hour
pandora still works outside the US, you need a proxy
itunes won't work with vista 64.
winamp is horrible at playing "random" - I heard the same 100 songs over and over out of 5,000
meh now I have to use windows media player...
