I'd really like to know how many of fow/uw farmers went to win the favor if they had lost it. Or maybe they just waited til HAers give them back their favor.

Old system was much better and made much more sense. New one with unlimited access is just wrong.
Strange how another recent thread about this, in Riverside, had a large majority of posters preferring the old way, giving plenty of reasons why old system was better.
War of the worlds was a great concept, just as the whole Favor of Gods. The connection of the whole world with the battles in The Mists was giving a feeling of participating in something big, connecting all those separate instances the game is made of in one world, in a way.
Now the free world travel makes a simple raturn to old favor system a bad joke. They would have to add the travel restrictions back to the 3 outposts with FoW/UW entrances for it to make sense.
sorta /signed, but the idea needs more thought, maybe even a completely new way for working this out should better be invented.

If you want other ways, maybe the time should be based on people finish all 'elite missions':
- Sorrow's Furnace and the Tombs in Prophecies.
- Urgoz and Deep in Factions.
- Any of the Generals or Mallyx in Nightfall.
Every time a 'set' of them is finished (1 of each, not just one) 1 hour is added.
That is, just finishing again Mallyx won't do. it should be Sorrow's Furnace, and the Tombs, and Urgoz, and the Deep.
One of each=1 hour.
Of course, just getting it finished would do, regardless of who finish them.
And after all of them are finished once, each separate one grants 1 minute more.
That would be another possible way, being PvE.
But not again PvP -> PvE.

The biggest reason I can give is the fact that there's no reason a computer game should divide benefits according to the global location of good players that are currently awake, and the second biggest that PvE farmers should not have to rely on PvP HA'ers to grant them access. Third biggest that since uninhibitted district access and scrolls have added much needed conveniance and they would make the old system pointless.
Taking that away would be a slap in the face.

Under the current system, favor can actually stop entirely (although due to double SS/LB weekend, that won't happen again for at least 4 months).

I like being able to freely travel between territories. I hated it when the different territories were separated, because it sowed a split amongst disparate groups of players that already existed in real life. If they re-implemented the old system, they'd have to cutoff travel between the language districts to keep the issue this thread brings up from continuing.
However, I do also think the PvE/PvP dependence was kind of nice, at least as far as community spirit was concerned. Perhaps they could make it so that maxing titles grants fewer minutes, and make it so that HA wins added minutes to the proverbial favor pot?
