Implementing this shouldn't take more than 4 hours (including testing).

On command /time, /thetime, /clock, players would recieve this info.
Quote:
Your current local time is [Player time] [DST/].
Current server time is [Server time] [DST/] (Difference [+/- difference in hours (and minutes if that applies)])
"[Event name here (if event is active)]" will be held again in [Time until next event]
DST would show if it's active - maybe also add what timezone the player is in.

Example:
Quote:
Your current local time is 13:43 DST.
Current server time is 6:43 DST (Difference -7 hours)
"Farewell to Gaile" will be held again in 1 hour 17 minutes.

Or possibly just the time on its own and /event would give you name of event, time until next one, time gaps (if different than 3 hours) and how many times will be held (not including current one (if one is active) and previous), possibly also locations where event is taking place.

If not that, at least add some of this in the performance dot, next to sever ip.

been suggested before, but apparently things that should have been implemented since the beginning are usually ignored anyway

/signed of course, not that it'll change anything

Since this doesn't change any game mechanic, you can't really make it not signed, unless it would be useless.

And since there's loads of people asking "when's the event" and many people are unsure, you can't really call it useless.

Arenanet just has to notice this and say "Oh okay, we'll get that in, we've got some spare time to do so."

Also, yes, it was posted before. But a long time ago. And nothing has moved since.

Maybe I'll hire 400,000 people to go protest in front of Anet. Maybe that will convince them.

I know what time it is here.
I know what time it is on the west coast.
I know what time the next event starts.

But, for all you lazy and time challenged people, and since it won't hurt anything .......

It'd be neat, perhaps, but honestly. Just stick a watch on your desk. It works, and doesn't take up server space.

This wouldn't take any server space.

It would just send the player current server time and upcoming event during connect (that would take, like, 100 bytes or what) and the client would calculate the time on his own. Once every connection.

I'm too lazy to minimize my screen just to check the time...then I have to deal with lag of putting the screen back to full

As there's already another thread on the front page concerning this topic, there should probably be a decision on whether to consolidate them or close one.
