We all know each game franchise has its icons.
Legend of Zelda has Link.Metroid has Samus.Metal Gear Solid has Snake. And Guild Wars has...Eve....?
On to the point of this suggestion:
I think Guild Wars 2 should have a bit more character development for the heroes and companions.Eve is on the cover of prophecies, yet you can only barely notice her for the whole game.
It would be more interesting to hear the storys from other points of view and to see side-stories of the characters in guild wars, rather than just killing things.A very good example of some character development in Nightfall would be Morgahn's childhood with Verash or Koss and Melloni's relationship.
Guild Wars has been known for its awesome dialog.Well, why not put the dialog to better use on things we normally see as [Fighter Henchmen] or N/Rt20 Livia rather than npc's we don't bother to read because we just take the quest from them?
Is anyone with me on Arena Net adding more character development to the heroes and such?
More character development in GW2

Yes if its in the form of side quests.
But, if look at Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and MGS, then compare them to Guild Wars.. what's the difference?
Guild Wars is an MMORPG.
Coincidence?

WoW doesn't have one...
Phoenix Tears
lol, what has this to do with Character Development ? XD Nothing..
You talk about NPC Story ...
But Character Development is somethign different and has to to with our playable characters, but there lacks GW1 too >.>
Will be hopefully better in GW2 too XD

Actually I didn't like it very much that Mhenlo and other npc's got to be the main characters in factions and the games after that, instead of our characters. Kormir too, we don't care about Kormir, we care about our own characters, that's why we made them. In prophecies WE did all the cool stuff, but in factions and nightfall we're kinda tagging along with the NPC's doing the cool stuff, in fact you count tell the story and not even have to mention the player characters at all.

GW isn't like that. I'm not sure how to respond then, so I'll assume you mean one of the following:
1. More character development of the NPCs.
2. More player-character development, as in choosing what to be able to do.
GW2 will supposedly have some kind of "Companion" system which might be similar to heroes. I don't know how they will incorporate that with the players, but that might be what they could develop the best to have a story alongside the characters. Past that, GW isn't about the NPCs, it's about you, and so all you can ask for about that is more stuff to do, as if there isn't already enough.

In prophecies, our characters were replacing Devona and co. but not in the other games because ANet apparently changed how they had the game going. In other words, our characters are to the real main characters as the henchmen are to us, just tagging along.

Yes so..? That's exactly what I said.

The Ascalon Chosen ones should have their own capes, and there should have been a BMP in which a party of 5 players enters and each one takes the place of each one (depending on order in the party).
It could have been during the Searing: All five start in separate places, gather, save the most people they can, and survive the Searing.
That would have been great.
Anyways, et's hope they do something better, with 'famous people' and so, in GW2.

Personally, I am hoping for something other to do besides Killing, escorting, or the "make me a sandwich" quest.
Armorers, Weapon smiths, Hairstylists, Hunters, Fishers, Clothing crafters, Jewelers, Farmers ect. should all be Player professions. There may need to be some basic NPC for this at the very start but all the advanced stuff should be player based.
They should also include areas were the character "hangs out and lives" in towns. Bars and a home come to mind.
