yeah it would be pretty cool to have an ascalon only event like this (as ascalon is the closest thing to britain in GW)
maybe even a pre-searing ascalon event? that would be cool for all the LDoAers out there.
maybe it could be an Anniversary of the Searing festival or something where they burn a big model of a charr on stick (eg: Guy Fawkes)

Basically, we light a giant bonfire, and burn a straw effigy of Guy Fawkes. Wouldn't. I'm sure they could change it around a bit and add it into Guild Wars, it would be a fun holiday, but I think there's already enough festivals around that time, with Halloween and Wintersday.

A
There's a bunch of events that are held weeks apart...mini events though, not like Halloween or Wintersday.
I say this would be a good idea, if it were a global thing.
And I thought the Gunpowder plot was a good thing in history? People standing up against an oppressive government and all. But you celebrate the foiling of it? Burn him in effigy? I'll pass...this is why England is being walked on by their parliament.

Well guys, you have some nice ideas.
Makosi, I know its really early to start an event like this, I was just seeing what the community thought of it. It is also a message to people to save their fireworks for the big night.
Jiub, holding it in Presearing Ascalon would mean no fireworks, which would be quite annoing. But a big model of a charr burning is a great idea (if only we could have one!)
WinterSnowblind, that is a problem. It is really near Halloween and Wintersday. You could have it as a special weekend drops from monsters thing though.
Shayne Hawk-The Halloween deco is removed on the 1st November, so the events wouldnt clash (i think)
A11EurO-Holding it globaly would be a problem, as only British people know the true story. You would have people asking what the hell Bonfire night was all about. And yes, I dont like celebrating the foiling of the plan, but I sure do like the fireworks.
