With the most recent weapon update, I was wondering if anyone else got the vibe that there might end up being some add-on armor set for paragons and dervishes in Factions?

I know its unlikely; what with the faction skills and now the end-game greens, it felt very much like Anet is trying to sell Factions to the NF professions.

It was just a passing thought I had. Anyone care to share their thoughts? It'd be nice if we got some nice armor sets like the upgrades at Grotto.

Possibly not.
Would be quite nice, though.

And let me guess, the title was supposed to be "Luxon and Kurzick for...Dervs / Paragons"?

^^: Yeah...

Sorry.

...the mind wandered a bit since I was tweaking my ritualist.

I would love to see this, have since I got the game *which was during Dragon Festival '06* and always wanted Tyrian Sin/Rit armor. I also say that sin/rit/para/derv armor and weapons should be added to Prophecies *En does not count as Prophecies*.

Since Nightfall had skills and armor for factions professions. It's not a completely improbable idea.

I would love some more para armor!

I don't care where it comes from either

yeah, id say its about time

At least release 1 new set for each prof not from that continent, ie Tyrian Derv/para/rit/sin armor and canthan derv/para armor

like you said, especially considering sins and rits got new armor sets in nightfall...

would love to see more armor choices for my paragon....and more skills too...

but since the 'we are working on gw2' motto has become king---doubt it will happen.

I made this suggestion somewhere ages ago and the response was the same.

"Not gonna happen"

I really, really think that there is so much potential for a Dark Grim Reaperesque Kurzick Dervish armor.

Or some crab shell Paragon armor which would not be too far fetched since current paragon armor looks like crabshells made of white plastic...

Come one, let the Dervs and Paras show their allegance!

Unfortunately the "Design a Weapon" contest didn't extend to armour...

Exactly.

I doubt they would take time away from GW2 to create 4 armor sets that would probably be branded ugly by players anyway.

I would love to see then do that, have a design an armor contest, it would allow some extra creativity from outside the bounds of the current base as well as add something that the community contributed.

Armor is much harder to add than weapons.

But, hey, it would be GREAT.

Anything for the sake or retroactivity and completion will always be good.

But, hey, pick a discarded design in Nightfall, make the gold parts green and amberish, and you have the paragon suit.
And for Dervishes, just a big, black goth-like cloack for Kurzicks and some scraps and remnats joint into a bit more bathsuit-like tunic for luxons and done.

I would be shocked if that ever happened, but it'd be really cool.

For Dervisher an Akatsuki suit

For Paragons an elegant armor, with religious designs.

I'm glad this topic is moving along nicely. I'm aware that the chances are questionable; the Luxon and Kurzick sets remain my favorite.

Basically, I was curious to hear other player's individual thoughts on the matter---whether they'd like it and if they had any design ideas. Some are quite interesting, I must say. You've considered class sensibilities quite well---as well as the particular traits of the two vassal groups.

It's nice to see the community collectively positive (even if noting Anet wouldn't wish to deter from GW2) on something even if it yields no fruit.

imo anytime you can make a character less like every other character you are really going to create something people will go for, even though things like Chaos Gloves and other stuff of that nature may not suit all, it really allowed people to make their character more of an individual. Hence more armor types means less likely to look like everyone else.
