Another chapter, I must be insane

I started playing GW in Jan '08 in Nightall.

Since then I bought Factions for the Canthan Holiday, EotN because it was $10 and now I bought GOTY becuase I figured it would be more "cost-effective than buying another slot for a mule/future 'sin. Of course I bought the skill packs too

Since I have yet to complete a chapter and thus don't have HM I kind of promised myself I wouldn't go to Prophecies until I got my main char through either NF or EotN.

Now however I saw you can trade Saurian bones for party items in Lion's Arch. I've got at least 30 so I'm thinking it's worth the trip.

I know I "qualify" for the quest to get to Prophecies but will that get me right to Lion's Arch upon completion?

Along the same lines . . .

Would it be quicker to just create new characters in GOTY ?

TBH, I don't understand the whole pre-searing thing and how the economy works between new Prophecies characters created or characters imported from Nightfall.

I guess the bottom line is what is the quickest / most effective way I can get saurian bones from my lvl20 NF char to LA to get party items.

Is pre-searing a total different game-style that I'll never see if I don't start a character in GOTY?

Do the quest, you'll be there straight away.

Yes, take the quest you will go straight to LA.

As far as pre goes it’s not really a different game style but, it is a whole different character progression style. As in both Factions and NF you can level your character very quickly. However in Prof, it is a much slower level progression and a lot more fun IMO. It doesn't rush you through the levels, it takes its time and progresses your character as the story unfolds. I would highly recommend creating a character and playing it through Prof. of course that is just my opinion. Prof is and always will be my favorite campaign.

I guess I just get a bit confused when people use the term goty for prophecies, but after rereading your post I think that is what you are talking about right?


anyways....the start up for a prophecy character is slow...it would be easier to bring your elonian or canthan over with one of the quests from either kamadan or kaineng....(they are both easy if my memory is still ok).

they dump you in lions arch so you would be where you wanted to be....so yes doing the quest is the fastest way...making a prophecies character is not fast.

pre-searing is something you will just have to experience.....

I would suggest just getting your character to la for the goodies and then forget about prophecies until you fulfill your 'obligations' you made with yourself---then you can do it without feeling like you did something wrong.

Target - a US based retailer has been selling it that low for awhile. There's a thread here somewhere about it.

Well.. You could move into LA - Doesnt mean you have to start the campaign, just go there trade and then carry on with eton!
