Hall of Monuments: Open to the Public

I understand that there are some things that you register in your personal HoM that will transfer over to GW2.

I see the HoM as a museum of sorts; displaying things you are proud of: armor, weapons, minis, and such.

What good is a museum "all about you" if you are the only person allowed inside? Not "whoever is on the account", but one sole character. You already know what you have done, where you have been, and what you have earned.

I would like to see the HoM expanded a little;

1) Open them to be viewed by other characters. Like a virtual tour, they can only look at what you have displayed.

2) Display any Titles you have acquired. We are only able to show one on the character at a time, but to see all the titles a person CAN display would be impressive.

3) If the player is associated with a Guild/Alliance have the cape prominently displayed upon entrance to the Hall.

4) Have the Hall customized to the account, not the individual characters.


None of these suggestions would greatly change the way GW runs other than letting people strut their stuff.

It would be pretty cool to add a "search" option and then jump to a person's hall. The only problem is there isn't enough things to put into HoM to make it "unique". There aren't that many different things you can put into HoM.

hey, sounds ok, but just a few quick questions,

what do u mean open to other characters? how would someone access your hall? without having 5million halls in a map with the names at the doors?

do like the idea of the guild/alliance cape at the door, but which would be displayed? because i know in some cases people are proud of their guilds cape, but if their alliance leader is well known, they often associate their guild with the alliance leaders.

My only question for this would be "how do you get it so anyone can view your hall without you leading?"

That idea is the only thing I can think of that would work, other then typing in the name of the character you want to see the HoM of in some new window at Eye of the North.

For many people, that would be a LOT of titles on the person. If you mean the HoM, then that is already done, you just cannot view all of the statues at once. When you click on the "Honor" part, it lists all of the statues you have.

As mentioned above, would it be the Guild's cape or the Alliance's Cape? Not a problem for those in the guild that leads alliances, but for the other guilds, it is.

Would love that idea, but only for the "public viewing." Making it an overall account based place would be 1) too much work and change and 2) annoying with having double statues up, the only part that can work without ANY doubles would be the armor part.

I got an idea on how to make it more "unique." Seeing how there are so many titles and statues for "achievements," why not add more weapons to the "Valor" part *only weapons that I see that works there are Tormented*, and double the amount of hero statues that can go up?*one for each upgraded armor for each hero* that will double both the "Valor" and "Fellowship" sections of the HoM.

The "Devotion," "Honor," and "Resilience" areas already have plenty of items to make those parts 'unique'

people, for what are you able to INVITE others into your team, and when oyu have people in your team, you can show the others the HoM, as long you are the team leader !!!

once show, you move out, change leader and repeat >.>

I think this is for when people are offline/someone you don't know personally *like someone in a famous guild that your curious how big their HoM is*. This idea is meant to be used at any time not simply with friends.

"Make the dumb HoM finally account based" and this is mainly the big hidden main wish behind the point, that is personally important for the OP

I've not seen this direct on first sight, so I thought, this is a senseless sugesstion, because people need just to switch team leaders to be able to show other "characters", so also other players their HoM's ...

Like the idea, similar thread posted before (about a month or so ago). My way of solving the how do you get to someone else's hall would be something to the extent of adding that to the friend roster and guild roster. You click on the icon next to the name and the option is there to visit player's HoM.

On the cape issue, why not have both displayed (one on each side of entrance).

One concern that needs to be carefully controlled when implementing is the rainbow phoenix needs to remain as only there when the owner of the hall is there, by themself. (just looking to avoid people selling rainbow phoenix's with this)
