i LOVE the way this thread is both giving gaile love and hate at the same time XD No wonder she's leaving her post - what a mess! She could have just been on her gaile character for work related reasons... she might not have offically switched positions yet, could have a week left or something - who knows!

As far as I am aware any Anet developer has access to a 'purple text' GM account. Most simply choose not to seek that kind of attention when it's not part of their job.
The fact that she was there on her work account, which isn't one she actually plays one (thus the Gaile Gray character having been level 7 for 3~ years) is a little odd.
I would be very surprised if devs were allowed to use item spawning commands on the live server. There are a number of reasons for this, not least that it has the potential to screw up the economy or earn a less scrupulous dev a lot of rl money.
Any particularly oldschool MMO players may remember the Ultima Online scandal, with the GM earning thousands of dollars from spawning and selling buildings in the game.
