I just had a question regarding the changing of armor. I can pull the texture and change most aspects of the UI but when i pull the texture for the armor i can't get the armor to show up.
I am using Gimp to change it. When i pull the texture it comes and the hair is visible but the armor is near transparent. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to make it so the armor shows up more.
Thanks for the help

Check the alpha channel on the image you're modifying. If it's too light, the armor will start to turn transparent. That's the quickest thing I can think of off hand.

i got the same problem
while using photoshop and dds i could see everything but couldnt save it correctly. tried paint. net but there i couldn't find out how to access alpha channel. tried gimp, and i could find the alpha channel, but i cant change anything, i can only add new channels. where can i tell gimp not to make everything transparent?
some programs did work, though: ACDsee and the windows preview. but with those i cant change anything

if he had photoshop he wouldn't be using gimp

after some experiments i found a solution:
remark 1: i used .bmp format from capturing with textmod
remark 2: since my gimp is in german and i translated it it might be called differently, if you cant find it tell me and ill make screenshots
go to "layers"->"mask"->"add mask" (it is possible that gimp says "layer mask" instead of "mask")
a box will show up where you can specify what sort of mask you want
there, you pick "take alphachannel of the layer" and confirm.
then, you go again "layers"->"mask"-> "deactivate mask" (the "deactivate mask" gets a tick now)
now you should see everything and can make changes
then, go "layers"->"mask"-> "deactivate mask" (tick gets removed)
now it looks like when you started
then you go "layers"->"mask"-> "apply mask" and it will still look the same, but the mask is gone and your alpha still intact
save it as a bmp and you're done
