Idle Question: What view do you prefer?
Storn
do y'all prefer being completely 1st person shooter-y? {i.e. no figure}
Or do you prefer having as much view of your character as possible and the view pulled all the way back?
Or do you switch views constantly as the situation is warranted?
I find myself switching around quite a bit. But I must admit I like watching the animations of my character doing stuff... although being the elementalist it seems a bit limited to the same move.

I usually have it 3th person, not the furtest away as possible, but quite far, this way i have a nice overview of the situation without losing sight of the small things like items etc...
Only time i go first person is to make a screeny of a certain thing...
IMO first person is not worth it, you loose total oversight of the situation, and you dont NEED it since you dont have to aim urself...

Rizzen Khalazar
I have mine in 3rd person. Just showing the full character.
Ramus
3rd person when playing the game.
1st person when perving around looking at female rangers.

Mountain Man
I generally stick to third person. It's much too hard to manage combat from the first person view, but I do use that view on occasion to admire the scenery.
Deagol
3rd person minimal zoom furthest away in PvP and hard PvE, and in areas I know well.
1st person when I'm by myself in a new but relatively safe area, to get as much immersed in the world as possible.
3rd person medium zoom for new areas of medium difficulty.

wedge
Pretty much 3rd person with varying zoom (for the same reasons stated above).

Had an add'l thought:
I tend to be slightly behind my dude in combat...
but I really love 1st person when looking and exploring. Feels more immersive.

lol i switch around alot... in big cities like Ascalon and LA, im in first person... staring at the ground like an idiot, cuz i lag so bad...
"Hey look! A penny!"
"Hey look! A penny!"
Mountain Man
My only complaint about the first person view is that that the field of view is a little too narrow, like looking through a small window, so you really can't get a sense of the scope of the levels.
Master Elyas
thats true, but it cuts down on the lag u get, cuz u cant see as much...
but then again, u probably dont get lag, cuz ur rich, and have a god computer, with like... 3GB of ram, with two 256MB PCI express video cards... am i right? close?

The IOU
3rd person, zoomed all the way back, unless a tree or mountain is blocking or screwing it up.
Then I zoom in but still like 3rd person view...

I prefer 3rd person zoomed close behind my character. I get enough of the scenery and it is nice during combat.
Illusion999
I use 3rd person but only because it's hard to change the view.
The mousewheel is supposed to do it right? Well, sometimes I can spin the mousewheel for 3 minutes before it decides to zoom in/out. Can't figure it out. The wheel works fine for other games and browsing the internet and anything else. In GW, it just decides to stop working Any ideas?
Sorry to get a little off topic.
