I've just realised why people want a pet stable
PureEvilYak
I've never seen the point in one before, but now I finally see why. Its not for variety. Its not because they want to show off.
No.
Its emotional attachment!
I have a pet spider, and I'm wanting to capture the moa and pheonix for the Hall of Monument. But... I have guild wars running on another tab, with my favorite character sitting next to the Eye of the North making small talk with the resident pet trader. But, even though I know I could easily get Vivi another spider, and probably a better one (Dire would work better for me, mines Eldar), I can't get rid of him!
See, theres just too many memories. I never really used my first few pets (Stalker -> Bear -> Dune Lizard -> Spider). So my spider went through the serious of useless builds incorporating pets until I finally found one which (pretty much) works. He's had his name changed for a variety of jokes and occasions (my favorite being Santa's Little "Helper" when fighting for Grenth o winterday). He's even killed me, in a fairly odd bug, while I sat there pleading for him to stop instead of fighting back.
I... I can't press the button to get rid of him. Its not the skin, or the difficulty of getting another one. Its the Ghost in the Machine that makes me hesitate.
PS: This isn't entirely serious.

I'd sign for pet storage, definitely. Not really anything needs to be said on it.

It would be nice to have a pet stable so you can collect all the pets. Im not too keen on pets as I dont have a ranger, but Ive had a pretty blue crab from the jade sea which was then replaced with my rainbow phoenix.
Guess I need to invent a BM elly build for lulz in RA.

I don't even know how you can become sentimental with GW pets. It's not like they are unique or anything. (No, Pet Class does not make them "unique.")

How would a pet live for years in a stable to be recaptured in GW2 even when its owner has outlived their life :/
Kill them and stuff them is the way to go!

I had a similar odd attachment with my strider from pre----with my tiny monk, so it 's name was Big Bird.....I was happy to get rid of it cause it was sooooo huge, but now I miss it since I cant go back to pre and get another one (yeah the moa, but they are not the same, really)....I am happy with my rat (like my avatar), but sometime I miss Big (and my mesmers pet wolf was the biggest wolf I had ever seen---she now has a reef lurker)....how I miss my other pets....
but oh well...
goood idea,
will never happen.

Yeah, I'd like pet storage. I don't really get attached to pets, but I don't like leveling them up (I'm lazy) and I'd like to switch every now and then but because I'm lazy about leveling them up, I rarely do it >_>.

Yeah, I can't see my ranger ever getting rid of her strider. It's huge and hogs all my cutscenes, but Ive had it since pre and it's been everywhere.
Even my main, I want a rainbow but I can't get rid of my dire spider. Not that I use it much, since my main's a warrior, but it's kinda cute and goes with my kurzick armour. Plus I like the reactions from newbies who see it

my ranger will never loose her white tiger, i F*ing love the thing! its so pretty with his blue eyes and white fur! havinga pet stable would be great, i would be able to have all those elite pets in HOM without having to loose my dear tiger that has been with me since factions ever came out.
PS- RIP my hearthy stalker, i let you go 2 (?) years ago but i still remember you!

It's a bag of bits in a database somewhere. Don't be so sentimental.

Too obvious solution:
signet of charm animal, same idea as signet of capture
charmed animals bound to that skill, swapable in the regular skill list, only usable one at a time, max 10 per char

I would like a pet stable for non-sentimental reasons. I want to be able to switch between a dire and a hearty pet to optimize a build.

Believe me, I'm far more attached to my Moa (really a pre-sear strider), who has been by my virtual side for years now, than I am to you.

Fully understand... I would like to have a white moa...just because they are there. But i just cant give my Bullzeye (Spider) away. Aspecially knowing the fates of all the pets given to the tamer in the past. Poor little buggers all became aflicted.
So, my solution was this: make my heros ranger 2nd, and get all of them a pet.
My necros heros all have spiders, mesmers heros- Pink flamingos, (it was rather suprising how well those things fight). Monks heros- White moas. Ele- Blue crabs...really need to get her to the doc and get this problem taken care of.

Obviously the best option would be to have the ability to carry six pets with you at any moment of your journey, ready to act on your call. Any captured after those six would go to your personal com-- wait a second. No. One is fine.

People become attached to pixels because of role-playing, I am not attached to my black moa but my necromancer is very much attached to her.
When I play GW as my necro I take over the persona of that character just as an actor does for a role in a play.
So for a couple of hours I am Lilith the necro and I have a symbiotic bond with my pet moa.
I forget my troubles and the real world to play the game, then I get back to real life for a time.
As long as you don't let it take over your life and try to cast spells on your boss boss or hang around cemetaries all the time its quite healthy.

But I agree, you get sentimental over the strangest things.
