I'm playing a W/E Shock Axe Spiker atm, and I asked my friend about which insignias to attach onto my armor. He said +hp all the way, because that 40 hp will make a difference comapred to the +20 or +10 armor other insignias provide. He claims that most spike will go through armor and will not be physical or elemental, therefore declaring that that 40 hp is useful and the +10, +20 armor not that great.

Most spikes, according to him, hit around and sometimes above 600 dmg, so +hp is very important.

Just wanted to see whether or not you guys agree this 40 hp is worth it or more armor is worth it.

Some people would agree. However, I prefer +20 vs. elemental damage if you have 13 or higher strength. If your strength is below 13, then +40 health is definitely the way to go in PvP.

With a Shock Axe, you're not going to have 13 strength.

Really? Can't I have a minor rune in strength and a minor rune in axe?

Well then +40 hp is definitely the way to go, in PvP that is. In PvE, you might also find use with +10 AR vs. elemental or +10 AR while attacking.

How exactly do you plan to run Shock then? Take points out of Axe Mastery?

I don't run anything in shock, I use it as a snare and as an interrupter.

So your air magic rank is 3?

Yes, so that strength and axe are both maxed out.

Most shock axe run with 14axe, 13str, 3air. Shock is for disruption, you don't need any pts in it.

But air focuses are awesome (No, I'm not being that serious.)

And elemental damage isn't necessarily your most serious concern in PvP.

Okay back to topic, basically for PvP I should go full HP to counter spikes, and Armor is not needed.

Yeah, but it's +20 AR... Yummm... Seriously, that's a lot. +40 hp is not much compared to it.

If it was +20 vs all, yeah it'd be nice. But it's +20 vs elemental. It kind of depends on what PvP arena you're playing in.

Also, pretty sure there are a crapload of threads on Sentinel's insignias already.

I would still go with Sentinel's insignia. You do need armor. But then again, you are the one to make the choice. Don't think that just because everyone says one thing then it must be true.

If your opponents are spiking out the Warrior instead of hitting the squishy targets, I say GOOD! The extra +20 vs. Elemental just means you'll be standing around, twiddling your thumbs longer while waiting for that one last person on your team to /resign.

Second off, it's not +40 health if you run Survivor insignias, it's +35. Why? Because as a Shock Axe, you are a fool to not take Stonefist on one of your insignias. +20 armor on your boots or +5 health are nothing compared to 3 second KDs.

600+ health is pretty important if you're a soft target, but you're not, so 600 damage spikes aren't going to be doing 600 to you anyway. Eh, most spikes. Don't flame me for saying that.

I personally run Radiant insignias on a Shock Axe, simply to cope with the exhaustion. I personally feel like slightly less oppressive exhaustion is worth more than armor or health when you're a low priority target.
