Transferring Avatars between accounts...

So here's the quick backstory. My little brother and I used to share an account. I, being the more mature and less selfish of thw two, gave up my progress to start a new, and gave him full access to my account. In turn, I bought myself a new one. (This happened 5 months ago).

Since I technically own both account (I paid for them with the same credit card, etc...) is it possible for me to transfer my old character (only 1 that I have in mind) from my old account (the one that belongs to my brother now), to my new account?

I'm pretty sure there is not a chance in hell of anet doing that.

Nope, afriad not. The characters and names are locked to the account.

What you could do is transfer all of that characters items over to your new account and delete the old character. The name is locked for a set period (1 or 2 Weeks I think, but im not sure exactly how long). After that period is over you can recreate the character with the same name.

If you dont feel like waiting ages, just make a new character which is similar to the old one adn give him the items off of the old one.

a friend of mine has his account and his dad started to play on his account, and his dad got to lvl 20, went through all the games. then he got his own account and had to start all over.
but yeah just transfer all the gear over to the proper account and start the character over.

I don't think that will work. I once had a character, deleted it, remade it with the same name and profession, and tried to equipment a weapon that was customized for the old one. It didn't work. Not even on the new character on the same account.

Keep in mind that you can't use your armor on a new character, even if it has the same name as the character on the old account nor can the new character use any customized weapons from the old character.

I don't think he meant customized items. Just any item that belongs to him.

Yea, I only meant regular items which belong that character. Sorry, I didnt express myself too clearly there .

Obviously Customized weapons, Armor (you can slavage the runes and insigs at least) and achievements are completely lost going through my method. You will have to start form scratch im afraid.

it's not even that - i've deleted a char and remade them with the exact same name immediately (survivor adventures... oh boy oh boy) so far as i know, as soon as a char is deleted, their name is fair game.

It's reserved for your whole account for an hour. So you deleted then someone took your name?

So some of you understood what i wanted, and some of you didn't.

I simply wanted to transfer my Level 20 Assassin with my PvE titles and customised armor/weapons. I figured this would be hard to do because the information is attached to the account, and to 'deprogram' the pvp titles and all else off of this account and move it to another account, seems like to much work.

Anet just won't do it. Rules are rules, same for everyone. No exceptions.

I don't think it's just a matter of "rules are rules". It's bad enough that people get their accounts hacked, it would be even worse if someone could move all your characters to some other account too. It's basically not worth ANet's time and effort to make absolutely sure that you are the person who should rightfully transfer the character. I can just imagine all the fuss when someone gets pissed off at someone else and transfers a character for a joke.
