Farming Gold Chaos Axes
Dr Dimento
Any tips on the best way to do it?
According to Wiki there are 4 ways.
UW chests, Chest of Woe, Fissure of Woe, or Kilroy Stonekin quest chests.
I know FOW obviously drops the most chaos axes, but i see very few GOLD chaos axes drop there. I can't help but wonder if anyone tries farming them with the Kilroy Stonekin chests. Since those are chests, they should drop higher quality chaos axes more often correct?

i think that kilroy quests drop purple items only
fow chests should be the most efficient way.
Or if you want to use that axe for yourself, just farm smth. else and buy it. That's the best option if you want to have any skin yourself

I found loads whilst 600/smiting FoW. Once you reach the undead the drops are pretty hefty.

They also drop with inscription slot in Nightfall (Torment Area) if you have the quest The last Patrol active (in Hard Mode).
Your main source of golds would be chests there though.
(not all chests drop chaos weapons though .. had a map with chest locations from a german forum ... can't find it now ... will update later)

Timebandit Interesting, never knew chaos axes dropped in Nightfall. Do you farm the quest or what? Or do you chest run with quest active?

My party is usually getting a lot of gold chaos axes while clearing FoW in HM.

Hmmm, I'm interested in the NF chaos axes as well. Do you have any proof that they drop there. And what does having that particular quest have to do with it? Is it just because there are more enemies with the quest active or can chaos axes only drop within that quest?
Honestly, I thought that chaos axes dropped only in FOW and UW (well aside from the Z chest or HoH chest), but I suppose I have been seeing quite a few inscribably axes in the forums and auctions lately. I just assumed they were all PvP drops.

Just a heads up, I just picked up the quest with my ele. Unfortunately they have finger's of chaos (doh).
I don't see why they won't drop or chest spawn (like magma shields) will post if I get one.
