Game of the Year edition confusing

So, answer this - i bought Prophecies, Game of the Year Edition. It doesn't include Eye of the North, right? The login screen (where i stick my email and password) says Eye of the North real big along the top. What's the deal? I've checked the account and Prophecies is the only thing activated or whatever. Is this just to confuse newbs like me?

The Prophecies Game of the Year Edition does not include Eye of the North. However, everybody sees the Eye of the North logo at the login screen, regardless of which of the games they own.
Everybody runs the same game client so there can only be one login screen for everybody, and ANet naturally wants to promote the most recent game in the GW saga.

correct. the EotN across your screen is just for advertisement.

not sure if you know this, and it should tell you (when in a town/outpost) if you type /bonus while in a town or outpost you'll have GOTY weapons spawn in your inventory.
you can equip your heros with these weaps even though they are customized to you, however, you can't trade/sell/salvage them. if you want to get rid of them, simply place them in your trash bin in your inventory.
you can spawn them as many times as you like.

No - the /bonus weapons are not eotn - they were added as a celebration when Guild Wars received the Game of the Year award.
Part of the confusion may be that they sell the GOTY prophecies eddition by itself but they have also started to sell a prophecies/eotn pack as the Guild wars Platinum edition.
To know exactly what you have go to "edit account" from your character select screed and it will tell you which games/expansions you bought and which bonus items are on your account

Factions
Nightfall
Eye of the North
Bonus Mission Pack
If one of those is not listed on your account you do not have access to it.
