About the drunkard bot or death levelling bot, I doubt anet will flip over these.
After all you're not effecting others or the economy. I'd say it would qualify the same as the Cartography aid with Texmod. I know it's not the same program(s) but such things don't bother me in the slightest. And let's be honest: who feels excited at the idea of spending more than 16 hours straight to get a damn title or worse months of death-levelling??
Would i get banned for this?

Most of the time, however, you won't need to leave a deathlevel session going for longer than 24 hours, so that's not really an issue.
Alex Dimitri, the idea is a pretty stupid one, simply because it's not the fact that there's bots that piss a lot of people off. I think it's more the fact that real-world money trading gives an unfair advantage to those that have enough money in real life to spend it on a computer game to make them virtually rich. That is why a lot of people would quit if Anet started offering in game gold in the online store. There's also the fact that Anet would then be generating gold to give to people who buy it, and it would completely destroy the economy (I know some people may say it's pretty screwed up as it is, and I can understand why they say that, but that's not the issue). |
setup DL before bed, when you get up just move around or active a skill, or type a message in guild chat. as long as you arent COMPLETELY inactive for 10 hours you wont be kicked.
as for the 24 hours thing. i have been connected for over 2 weeks when i was deathlevelling a lot. the 24 hour disconnect only applies to one instance. if you zone after 23 hours you will not be forced to disconnect.
also if you do get the 24 hr disconnect code you will not be able to reconnect.

Just a suggestion, but I have found that if I log out and close the game completely, then start it up, sign in again and start a D/L session, then I dont have a problem of being signed out.
Of course if you have things set up such as scans etc to go at 3am in the morning or similar, theres a small chance ( depending on your comp/memory etc) tht these could mess up your connection. Oh and the new build happening 10 minutes after youve gone afk (so it kicks you off 10 minutes before you get back to the computer...).

Document it properly and you will be able to have it overturned.

They ban first, don't bother to ask questions later, and expect you to dance like a trained poodle to get unbanned or appeal it, when it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I transfer items for people all the time! I am really getting cautious now, because this is the 2nd time I have been banned wrongfully. Dominican, one of my guildies, got an "accidental" perma ban for this same reason. He has been unbanned, but it took 3 days and it was on a special weekend (st patties). ANET are way way too crazy with the ban stick right now. I am all for keeping bots in check, but they should PM people and ask them what they are doing BEFORE they slap a ban stick on them. I am sure they can see who is trading with who, and if they PM both parties, they might find that it is an item transfer or the two are friends. Shame on you ANET.

I think the "GMs" that work for PLAYNC are completely out of touch with the community, and they treat Guild Wars like the red headed step child because there is no monthly fee. That means PLAYNC isn't making as much money as say... Lineage 2 or the like. I think the "support" staff they hire to take care of Guild Wars just don't give a flying shit about us or the game. If ANET had internal support and took care of their own support tickets, it would probably be infinitely better. Maybe Gaile will improve this dismal situation. The number of mistake bans has gone way way up in the last few months. There is a fine line between being good and being annoying. PLAYNC has crossed into the annoying part, as of 2 months ago.
Their Jihad on bots and eBay gold is noble, but when they start throwing around bans and deleting stuff on peoples' accounts who most certainly didn't do said action, that is alienating (especially the deletion part). I think they should only delete items if they are 100% positive about this sort of thing. My recent ban was speculative, I can certainly tell you that. It is just coincidence that I was power trading and dealing with high value trades two days in a row and I get a ban for ebaying gold? No, I think not. They are watchdogging all trades, and tracking everything. The instant they see something that lights up one of 60 different variable flags, kaboom, ban button. Want to appeal it? Oh, have fun with our "support" system and snotty "GMs" who don't actually play the game or understand what power selling is.
Hell, I have auctions here on Guru. I am making decent money as of late, why would I want to ebay? Gold has become extremely expensive because of the crackdown ANET has put on bots. To even begin that a well educated, intelligent person like myself would pay 18+ dollars for 100k which I could make just from doing DoA 2x or so, would be silly. Anyone who is stupid enough to pay that much real money for fake money is an idiot. They need to be a bit more cautious about who they slap the ban stick on.
