Hello!

I've just gotten my new 5.1 set and it works perfectly, except in gw
My setting in windows (vista x64) and in my sound card driver menu are both on 5.1 (Soundcard onboard HD realtek from GA-P35-DS3 with support up to 7.1). When I just start gw I have sound, but no 5.1. When I click on the 'Use 3d sound hardware' option, theres no sound anymore

Can anyone help me solve this?

This might be an entirely stupid question, but is it possible there's a compatibility problem with your version of DirectX?

Has anyone tried updating the drivers?
Other things to do: Update your DirectX (for the DirectSound updates)

How do you know that it's not 5.1?

you can tell if you're getting 5.1 sound simply by going to any stationary item that produces noise and turning in front of it. Try it with a burning torch. You'll hear the sound progress around the speakers.
