I stumbled across what I think to be an very old thread while looking at solo builds for uw for monk. From what I understand protective bond at 17 protection prayers would cost 1 energy but now it seems even 19 will still come up 2 energy. This skill was nerfed a while ago correct? Or is there any way to get 1 energy out of this.

Yup, it was nerfed a while ago because it was messing up Anet's servers for some reason.

And if you want to get 1 energy out of this it has to be above 19 Prot. Prayers, so that isn't going to happen
