Alright, here's the deal. I recently had to reinstall Vista on my computer due to an error. Before that, Guild Wars played perfectly, about as beautiful as you can imagine.
Now I get this when I play:
It only happens in full screen mode, not windowed, and another thing I've learned is that it works fine when forcing it to run under -dx8.
Other options I've tried: I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, made sure my driver was updated, did the -image thing, and used the command prompt to see if it was happening with other 3d objects (guild wars is the only 3d game I really have on the computer right now) and they worked fine. I could use your help as I want to play normally again. Oh, and my graphics card is not erroring or anything.

I can only think of 3 things to try:
a.) Trying another resolution setting, or
b.) Uninstalling and re-installing the graphics card drivers. When you update new drivers overtop pre-existing ones, it doesn't always throw out everything from the old version; sometimes it just adds on the new stuff, leaving the old problems. I've had driver corruption before, and that's what the issue was in that case.
c.) If it works in dx8 but not dx9, maybe try re-installing dx.

Update your DirectX using the redistributable and update your graphics card drivers.
