How hard would it be to have my username changed to Farin? I've pmed admins a couple times during the past 10ish months and no response. Any help?

K, I'll just open this and address it now to everyone that is asking. Name changes are not a priority for me. Which means, in order to get one (and I'm only being honest here) you have to catch me in PM's at the right time when I'm able to do it. I don't keep running lists of those who want name changes. Nor do I respond to them, if it's going to happen it will happen.

I hate to be such a downer on the subject, but I literally get 2-3 PM's a day asking for name changes. If I happen to not even read my PM's for 3 days I now have to sort through 10 PM's asking for them as well as the other 20 PM's I have that I will need to research bans that people have questions over, or why a post was deleted, or requests for information, or people asking for help with Anet, etc. etc. I don't have over 6000 PM's for nothin'. Let's not even get into my emails.... And no I don't mind helping people out but as I mentioned above, it's not a priority. I've done hundreds. So please just continue to PM me and if you catch me at the right time I will get it done. Don't PM me every day I beg you though.

Include the username you want to have in the PM as well. If it's taken I'll respond back asking for another choice. But I promise it's like getting in line again at the very back... hoping that when you PM me a response I'll be there and in the mood to do it. So do a search first on the forums to see if the name is taken rather then making me do it.

Thanks everyone!

I propose me for VP of Name-Changing!

No but seriously, I do have a suggestion. In my old forums (a rather large Final Fantasy community), we used to have a strict policy on no name change for the reasons mentioned above. However, we did have an event about once a year where we would post a thread and keep it open for a couple of days in which users could request a name change.

Looking back at it, it was atually kind of fun to have a yearly event that allowed people who wanted a fresh start through a new username to do so without overwhelming the administrative staff the rest of the year. It was something that people usually looked forward to and prepared for, since it would force them to come up with a name they could live with for at least a year. It also served as an archive (a who's who now?!) for the rest of the community to avoid the confusion that random/pm namechanges usually tend to bring.

Anyways, just a suggestion, keep up the good work!
