The Scepter of Orr
Yoom Omer
What do we know of it? I think that if we will determine the scepter history we will have a chance to theorate what livia is doing near it in the endgame cinametic, and some interesting facts about our five gods and the Orr mistery.
What was the scepter target? Why did gods gave it to us, and what made them regrate ad bury it? Who had the scepter before the white mantle digged it?
Also, I have found this interesting picture in the GW:P trailer:
Reminds you of somthing?
The picture appers in the following video in 00:26-00:27
http://youtube.com/watch?v=94_U8byqTBg
I think that it is too similiar to ignore it.
Anyway, this is not a theory thread, it's more like an official thread to discuss the scepter influence and future.

didn't you read what GW 2 is going to be like?
livia is the new ruler of the world, every luxon, kurzick, and all of the asurans are extinct/dead, lions arch is flooded under water, the charr finally took over ascalon, the norn are now helping the charr, and so much more.

well at the end of eotn we have livia finding it, maybe to save kryta the shining blade use it too awaken the dragons to help kryta, but the plan backfires and the dragons start killing everything. which is why heroes have to return and find the hall of monuments to learn the ways of the past heroes, so they can defeat the dragons.
its all speculation, but it sounds slightly logical to me. if the scepter of orr is that important to be dug up in the first place, it should have enough power to awaken something like a dragon or 2.

No scepter of orr for that.
I think, if any will have something else to do with the story.

1. The Scepter of Orr controls the dead, not dragons, at least as far as The Shining Blade know.
2. The Dragons wake themselves up, the Great Destroyer was suppose to wake Primordus up earlier, but we set the "alarm clock" back by 250 years.
Now, on to the OP topic.
The Scepter of Orr, and it's sister staff, the Staff of the Mists, was created by the Gods as a gift to the humans, each staff given to 2 different nations. Due to greed, or some other reason, the 2 nations, and others, battled each other for the staves.
Due to the constant warfare, the Gods intervened and killed the leaders of the 2 nations that controlled the staves, and buried the staves in the leader's tombs. The tombs' locations were unknown until recently.
The White Mantel somhow figured out that the undead were wanting the Scepter of Orr, so they searched for the scepter, and later found it. The location of the tomb is where Rotscale is in Majesty's Rest. Eventually it got into the Lich's hands *Prophecies plot*, when we killed the Lich, Glint takes it away *end-cinematic at end of Hell's Pricipice* and hid it somewhere. Where then, as said, livia finds it after the death of the Great Destroyer.
If the Scepter of Orr is put into GW2, which I think it will be, I can only think of 3 scenarios for it.
1. Palawa Joko obtains the Scepter of Orr and becomes more powerful, rivaling the power of the Undead Dragon.
2. The Undead Dragon gains hold of it and uses it to take control of even more minions and land.
3. The players *through some unknown NPC* use the Scepter of Orr to combat the Undead Dragon.

uuh...no... How could you play as an asuran if they are all dead?
-Luxons and Kurzicks are made to join all of cantha
-the Norn are fighting the Dredge
-the asuran are neutral and are helping the charr and human wars by having neutral trade routes
-the charr and norn have a unwritten alliance with each other.
Then when the dragons appeared, the Charr and Humans were pushed into the crystal desert.

I'll split up some of your post.
Its a scepter that can control forces from beyond in this case the Titans and Undead. We also know it has a sister staff known as the Staff of the Mists. Why they were created originally is a mystery. Perhaps they were intentionally created by the gods for the rulers. Its not really clear.
We dont need the history. Livia wants to save Kryta and so she finds the legendary Scepter of Orr that can control forces such as Undead. A staff that can command the living dead surely would be the ultimate weapon to fight the Mantle?.
If she takes it or not we will have to wait and see but if she does she will saccrefice alot - because as we have seen both the staffs are trouble.
If the Scepter actually had an intention it is a mystery. It does seem strange that it just appears in a lake especially after disappearing at the end of Prophecies. My only thought would be total control and destruction.
Who knows. As for who had it if i recall correctly the Mantle found it in a tomb in Majestys Rest. So it was probably buried with an Orrian.
Giving them to the humans for protection seems strange considering there power and the affair with the bloodstones however perhaps they were originally created for another purpose.
Yeah thats the Scepter of Orr. That trailer was pretty early as you can see has thigns that are not in the Guild Wars storyline -the big castle and the flying Undead Dragon (Dont even think about it). Though it also contains alot of things in the game such as the Executioner, the possible Grasping Ghouls,Devonas story and of course the Sceptor of Orr.
Who knows? that thing holding it could be the early cinematic Undead Lich. I'm going to guess that castle was originally supposed to be Arah/Orr.

Winterclaw
My guess is it was used in the image because someone decided it'd look good. Devona also used a pair of swords in that clip but she never did in the game.
