New to Sin, questions on MS/DB
Carinae
I have only been running a Sin for a short time now. I would like to hear some comments on the build I have been running:
600hp/25e
Survivors Insignias
Zealous/Fortitude Dagger
14 DM
13 CS
Golden Phoenix Strike
Critical Strike
Moebius Strike
Death Blossom
Critical Defenses
Critical Agility
Critical Eye
Dash
It's not fancy, but the skills all have strong synergy with each other, and the build is very straightforward for a beginner.
The one drawback I have seen is that if GPS misses, your attack chain is screwed until GPS recharges. Although, even auto attacking generates enough crits to maintain CD/CA, so you don't fall apart, you just can't get into MS/DB.
Critical Strike is handy if you NEED to refresh CD/CA.
There just doesn't seem to be a faster way to get into MS/DB without breaking the rest of the build. Master of Damage rates this at 81dps, to a single target. Obviously MS/DB crank out numbers much higher when they get in a mob. The build is crazy fun, and very survivable. I've died like 3 times as I worked through EotN.
I've never looked up a Sin build. I made this one myself, for all I know, everyone runs this. How is it?

not bad. Critical strike and critical eye is overkill, I would just go with critical eye because it dosnt break your MS/DB chain. I wouldnt bother with dash either, kinda useless. if you need a speedboost i would take rush.
its pretty good though, pro attribute spread.

The AFK Monk
looks pretty good, but i would throw in save yourself in place of dash for extra support

It's not survivable enough for survivor though. Aside from that, it's pretty standard. I run something similar with the two fox skills as my set up to MS/DB, but I've had problems with mobs dying too quickly to finish it... That's a good problem usually. Scythe builds are popular. I run an A/R with the interruption preparation on occasion as well.

Yea, Mobieus and Death blossom are basically the bread and butter skills for PvE sins.

I have a very similar set up. I only use it in HM and other specific situations, though. In NM and most areas, enemies die too fast sometimes, preventing me from connecting with MS. That'll leave me with a lot of time just hacking away with my dagger dealing next to no damage thanks to GPS' long recharge.
Most times, I go with this set up:
Golden Lotus Strike
Golden Fox Strike
Wild Strike
Death Blossom
GLS for e-management and the rest of the attack skills to spam all day long. Constant unblockable attack skills as well as stance removing skills. The remaining slots can go for defense, self heal, res, or othe offensive help like Critical Agility. You can throw in MS for good measure, but it's not needed. Very good damage and most importantly, reliable in majority of PVE situations.

Looks good, I rolled a sin recently and am loving it, have yet to get going on EotN yet but took him through Factions and NF using the same build:
[build prof=A/W box dagger=12+1+1 Critical=12+1][Golden Fox Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Moebius Strike][Critical Eye][Critical Agility][I am unstoppable][Save Yourselves][/build]
Using two Rit heroes, both with Splinter Weapon and AR, and one with Warmongers, it's quite delicious.
PS: And yes, the armor from "IAU!" And Crit Agility stack.

How about Sprint? a) I can't easily get Rush without a tome (Factions girl) and b) Rush uses Adrenaline which would take away from SY!
Golden Phoenix Strike Death Blossom Moebius Strike Critical Defenses Critical Agility Critical Eye Save Yourself! Sprint I'm gonna play around with this build. Chthon
Heh, Carinae, you pretty much came up with "the definitive best sin" without looking.
Anywho, commentary: 1. GPS works, and it seems to be the chain-starter of choice around here. Sneak Attack + Golden Fang Strike is a bit more reliable and recharges faster, but at the cost of an extra skill slot (and a PvE skill slot at that). 2. Club of a Thousand Bears gets recharged by by MS, giving you a frequently-available interrupt/knocklock tool. (Picked that up from the other thread I did ) 3. Critical Eye and Critical Strike is overkill. I tend to prefer critical eye since it adds damage, while critical strike tends to sit unused on my bar for long periods. 4. SY is a nice addition. You don't attack fast enough to keep it up nonstop like a godmode dragon slash warrior, but you can keep it up enough to save your team a lot of damage. Coloneh

without an adrenaline engine (Dslash or IMBAgon) SY! is kinda useless. I wouldnt bother. and i suggested rush because it is free (you shouldnt really be using adrenaline for anything else) and can be kept up forever. Pious Haste would be my seccond suggestion... unless they nerfed that, cant remember.

technically thats stacking i guess.... Eh forgot about that, just seemed like too much of a difference when using both instead of one to be 1 armor. RavagerOfDreams
purty good except you can either drop critical eye for a pve skill like club of a thousand bears or you can drop critical strike for another dual of your choice (i.e twisting fangs, hoto)
also coloneh is right dash is pointless in pve pritty much all ims's are this could be a party wide utility such as SY! RPGmaniac

All you gotta do is a quick quest to get her to LA. If you already have it unlocked, you can buy it from the skill trainer there.
Carinae
God, I always forget that. Yea, she's already in LA, done.

Why would you run rush over dash? Rush uses adrenaline, is a short duration and only a 25% speed buff. Dash can be used outside of battle because it is energy based, is a short duration/short recharge, requires no attribute and is a 50% speed buff, which can even catch HM monsters. Coupled with dark escape as a panic button survival skill you can be an amazing track star also...

Rush is free and can be kept up permanently. for our purposes it functions just fine with no attribute investment.
