Are you going to type up the programming code for them?
If not this is just another waste of a thread.

I would be content with
1. decoupling of faces and professions so that you can pick your favourite from 64 faces instead of just the 8 for the chosen profession
2. three body types: lithe, muscular and fat
Remember that as the degrees of freedom in character customization go up, the details and variety of armor goes down since there's more work to be done with issues like clipping.
Also, professional artists do a better job with faces than 99.9 something % of the player base. If you could make your own, the most common characters you'd see in the game would be Mr. Turdface and Ms. NicePersonality

O
hmm... i'd love to see all that but i think its too much to possibly implement.
the best results with the least changes, as far as i can tell, are:
- separate skin colors, haircolors and heights by campaign
- separate hairstyles and faces by gender and campaign
^i'm sure that these changes could be made
with these two i'm not sure wether they are feasible:
- every exsisting char gets one opportunity to change appearance
- after beating a campaign having for the respective char access to the hairstyles of that campaign
theoretically, you'd have much more possible combinations without the need of any models or textures not already in the game
... could it be that every face/hairstyle/etc has a number, and therefore there would be too many numbers if you don't separate the professions?
about like that: (...) means a number containing information
(tyria)(necromancer)(female)(hairstyle3)(face5)(sk incolor3)(haircolor1)(height8)
and the game doesn't support numbers higher than..9 for example?
... i think i don't know enough about the technical aspects to know what would be possible and what not...

Still waiting on your fix. The only things I see is a list of suggestions, and much of them have been suggested many, many times before.
I have never seen an exact copy of my primary character, and can't bothered with all these customizations.
I think it's clear Anet is busy working on GW2. If they decide to invest some resources in GW1, I'd rather have them fixing bugs, or adding playable content.

there not problems btw, there just things you'd liek to see in the game.
i.e. i may want air force fighters in Guildwars ( i dont) but then i could say that that was anets problem..the lack or fighter jets.

Characters Need More Customization In Physical Appearance -Allow the addition of make up (Sorry, this should be for females only) -Allow highlights for female hair and be able to adjust the color, location, size of said highlight. |
if its going to be for one it should be for both, Men have highlights too...and some wear make up
The other idea's are good enough too i think its a bti over the top, a sim2 setup would be nice.
i'd like to see somthing like this for gw2 but too late for gw1

I think it is humiliating how you steal someone else's idea and make a Thesis out of it. Maybe you should have a 12 thread page bibliography to honor the thousands of people who beat you to coming up with this idea?
Also, real men don't wear earrings so that is out of the question.
So, I am wondering why you want to make a big muscular man with earrings.
Well before I make any other accusations against you, let me just say /notsigned.
EDIT: /notsigned mainly because of the fact that Area Net cannot even make basic armor look realistic {Such as in the Inventory Snapshot of your character a weapon will go through your cape, half of the caster icons go through your hand wrappings, etc...} It will just be horrible if this is implemented. {Such as items you carry to be where an obese character's stomach is located}.

If you toned it down a little, Id sign. Id go more for:
Different eyes, mouths and noses and the ability to choose. (although id still like some to be available in Cantha, and not in Tyria etc). These eyes could come with peircings, different make up and such.
Weight customisation. Sounds fine to me, 3 choices - slim, medium, heavy. (not anorexic or obese, there would be far too many ethical issues and Anet would want to be sure theyre putting over a healthy msg).
Muscle customisation. 3 choices - lean, medium, bulky. Again, no hideous wasting away, but no drug-fueled muscle monsters!
Id like to see weapons sheathed in outposts, but not the ability to get them out. I see towns as a safe, combat free zone, no need to have any weapons out other than to show off.

Characters Need More Customization In Physical Appearance -Add Tattoos (All types Girly, Guy, Skulls, Angels, Demons, Etc – Go here for ideas http://www.tattoofinder.com/) -Allow weight customization (Skinny, Obese, Medium, Etc) -Allow Earrings (Males + Females; varying sizes + styles + gemstones + gold/silver metal) -All muscle customization; not all of us want to be a Hercules (Small muscles, large muscles) -Allow more face customization. Everything on the face should be separate, NO WHOLE FACES! I want to choose a different nose, mouth, ear, eye, eye color, eyebrow, mustache, facial hair, etc I should be able to adjust the size and color of each of these) -Combine all the hairstyles, faces, into one master selection depending on the expansions you have purchased. Sometimes I want to put a Tyrian face with a Canthan hairstyle with an Elonian skin color. LET ME! -Allow me to choose my avatar’s animations! They’re should be an animation library in game and anytime I am in an outpost I can change my animations to how I see fit. Player’s shouldn’t be stuck with animations they don’t like. -Allow me to adjust my looks at anytime. I should have the ability to change my looks once a month without penalty, but to do it more than that there should be a small gold fee to serve as a gold sink. Maybe a couple thousand gold. -Allow the addition of make up (Sorry, this should be for females only) -Allow highlights for female hair and be able to adjust the color, location, size of said highlight. -Allow me to show my weapons in outposts! (Add an option for people who don’t want to see other people’s weapons, and to hide your weapons like we have currently) -Allow me to select how my weapons are sheathed on my back, on my side, on my backpack, in my backpack, through a belt loop, inside of its own holder! Feel free to add anything else you think I might have missed! |
If you don't want to be a brute warrior, make a female. The female warriors look like a pretty cinderella running around. Careful, don't forget your glass shoe!
'-Combine all the hairstyles, faces, into one master selection depending on the expansions you have purchased. Sometimes I want to put a Tyrian face with a Canthan hairstyle with an Elonian skin color. LET ME! "
Yup, it's already there, just need a master character creation screen (create profession first, then looks (using all styles available), only select which campaign at the end, default to factions if rit/sin, default to nf if para/derv).
"-Allow highlights for female hair and be able to adjust the color, location, size of said highlight."
That would be REALLY hard to implement, but why not for males? What if I want highlights as a male? Why all the hate against males?
The kurzick eater: "i don't want my war to be obese anymore " he's not. he's muscular. Do a google image search for "wrestler" (I probably mispelled that, sorry)
What really does piss me off tho is that the female characters are so freaking anorexic that their BODY WIDTH is SMALLER than a warriors LEG! WOW! My BF is pretty beefed up, and I'm pretty thin, but in game it seems like I'm an ant!
And here's some tips for you who want more customization: Get textmod and a graphics editor software. It works wonders.
As for the body size, hair style change etc, we're doomed, I agree.
And RedStar is right, no matter how much customization, you'll still see lots of twins. Like, lots and lots of red headed eles and exotic armor female rits. Go figure

We've been banging on for a hairstylist since almost day one... methinks we'll not see customization on this scale until (hopefully) Gw2.
I'd sign it, but there's little point.
Quite frankly, your list is too extensive. I would love having some more character customization, but honestly, i'd just be happy with pooling all the hairs and faces onto one character customization screen.
My dream customization would be something like what exists in Aion, but with a little more facial customization.
here are some Aion links to show you what i mean:
