Make /stuck bindable to a hotkey
Marverick
As title says.
Having to hit enter and type in /stuck is a really absurd idea to get out of a rubberband. In the two or three seconds it takes to do that you are completely helpless. Make this command bindable to a hotkey.

/stuck has nothing to do with getting you out of a lag spike (which is what you are complaining about) but about a game model getting stuck in a wall or corner or behind a tree.
TrippieHippie89
i think he may be referring to ha, in particular relic runs, where if you are relic running you must continuously be spamming /stuck to make sure you have really gotten past the opponents bodyblocking, making it a hotkey would leave you able to run freely, while pressing that when you need to make sure instead of having to stop everything to type the command out

Rubber banding actialy has nothing to do with lag from my experience. And I have this key macro'd to my g9 mouse's secondary button I use it so much. I definetely think they should provide this option so it doesn't require
a gaming mouse/keyboard to use. (smite runs are hell on my laptop)

You can macro /stuck with a G15 keyboard.

That would surely help sometimes.

Get your self a programable keyboard /end problem. On a side note I really do not get stuck like I use to (fall into stairs etc..) I think they fixed alot of the problem areas. (bind a key so all heros/hench attack target to one key would be better or Spreadout you SOB Spreadout key IMO)

It's not exactly a complicated thing to implement... if the devs have time to devise concise descriptions and whatnot then why not just make a hotkey for /stuck.
HawkofStorms
Honestly, I do NOT think a.net designed the /stuck feature to be used in such a manner to allow easier running, etc. /stuck is supposed to be used if you got caught in a wall/stairs/into the floor and can't move at all. You aren't supposed to be using /stuck once every 5 seconds, but like once every 5 hours. Abusing it is THE definition exploiting a game mechanic.
They aren't going to make exploiting it easier.

The classic example of this is relic runs. Halls has been lost when the relic runner kept running, blissfully unaware that he was body blocked by one guy. To say that we should want to avoid this is an exploit is just ludicrous.

Get autohotkey (google it or something)
save the following as a text file:
$Z::
Send /stuck
And problem solved. And you can even make it any key/mouse button/key combination you want!

The stupid rubberband bug shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Like I said, a.net NEVER designed /stuck to be used in this manner. As it stands, it provides and unfair advantage to an opposing team.
And the "rubberband bug" is just called lag. It will happen with any online game. To say it "shouldn't have been there" is like saying GW should never have been on the internet in the first place. Lag and rubberbanding will always exist in an online game.

Do you even play pvp? seriously if you dont know what you are talking about dont add in nonsense oppinions that are based off nothing.
rubberbanding sucks hard and getting desynced sucks, not just in tombs (although that is the most common occurance imo). getting stuck on retarded stuff has nothing to do with player skill and does not give the player an advantage. it gives an advantage to people who have better internet and computers who never get desynced.
and when you rubberband, im pretty sure there is a definitive difference between that and "lagging" as one your skills completly blink/u cant move, and the other you are still capable of seeing what is going on in the enviorment etc.

Stop insulting me by saying I "don't play PvP" when I do. Yes, rubberbanind sucks, but its best to deal with it rather then whine about it.
Start addressing the issues. Does using /stuck give one team an unfair advantage over another? Yes or no?

So lets get back on topic....
I'd be happy if such a command is implemented, I've got body-blocked too many times without me noticing.
Maybe Anet could give us the option to hotkey the other emotes as well.

I especially hate it when I have to hear over vent that I'm rubberbanding when I thought I was just about to cap. I've wanted a stuck command for ages, then again I'd like better servers such that the desynch doesn't happen as often. While talking on that matter, I'm sick of hitting an earthshaker in UW and knocking down three people on complete opposite sides of the map, can we get a /stuck that refreshes everyone's position (also, server)?
Eragon Zarroc
if u want a hotkey for it, u will have to get a keyboard that can do it. btw, u only have to type /stuck, not enter 1st. that will take one key out of the number of keys u have to type and increase speed by a fraction of a second;-) lols
MithranArkanere
And then just stop typing anything else and use [Enter][Up][Enter] anytime you want to use stuck.

No reasons why we should have it, but it's not like there are any better reasons why we shouldn't have it. Hotkeys ftw.

Why not?
If is useful for someone and is not a source of exploits to harm other players, I don't see a reason to /notsign.

Since somebody replied to my post from 9 months ago, I'd like to reiterate my response.
If anything, I think they should REMOVE the ability to spam (maybe say, a 2 minute cool down) /stuck all together, not make it easier. Lag happens, and it is abusive to be able to spam /stuck with a programable keyboard like you can now. The current situation gives people who have a superior gaming rig with a programmable keyboard an unfair advantage over people who don't. Rather then give everybody that advantage, A.net should just remove it altogether.
People should play anticipating lag. If you are skilled enough to be able to win AND still overcome the occasional rubberband, then that says more about your ability.
