jumping npc's
traiss7
hi, my friends computer has been doing this for a while now, some npc's and henchmen seem to be jumping back and forth even in cinematics. it wouldnt be such a problem if only the mime in the tihark orchard mission wasnt jumping back and forth. this is the only mission he needs for protector of elona and cannot do it coz he cannot see wat emotes the mime is doing. any one have any ideas why it would be doing this? maybe his game needs reinstalling or it is his computer?
Brianna
Yes, it's most likely that his .dat files are corrupted and a re-install would fix this.
That's the only thing that I can really think of, it wouldn't be a hardware bug, it's just corrupted files usually that make the game go weird, tons of odd things have happened to people cause of it.

oh so if I can't see certain emotes, my dat files is proberly corrupted?
Brianna
Yep, I've heard of that being the culprit too.
I mean technically it wouldn't make sense for video cards/computer hardware to not support certain emotes and have those types of bugs, it has the be the game itself.

Are you using Texmod?
That could cause problems as well.

do they jump on a regular basis? if not, then don't be too hasty. My NPCs tend to jump every so often, for 5-20 minutes at a time, and that is usually attributed to simple lag.
But, if it is a persisting problem, it could be that he either has a corrupted .dat file, like others have previously stated, simply has a bad connection, or his video card is a little wonky.

Anorther option would be to scale back the video settings and see if that helps.
