If you're a semi linux newbie whats a good Linux Distribution to go with right now that could probably let me run Guild Wars
I've seen some youtube videos of Guild Wars on Linux but they aren't informative enough

probably not worth the hassle. you'll need to install wine. go to the wine website and check out which version(s) you'll need. then you install that. then you try to install guildwars. then after playing, find that graphics just aren't as fast.

You might try Codeweavers, they have a new way for some windows programs that will run on a Mac and Linux. Not sure who well it works tho

i'm using codeweavers crossover pro. guild wars runs a LOT better than it did with wine. really it's the best way to go. sans a few graphical issues and sound glitches, the game runs beautifully. nevertheless i keep having the same old issue where guild wars won't connect at my house. it's an issue i still am trying to resolve. otherwise i can connect anywhere else and once again game runs perfectly.
