What do you all think would be pros and cons of Para/Ranger or Para/War?

For instance would I have a pet if I was a Ranger? Would my attacks be quicker or something because of being a marksman?

Would a Warrior secondary give me stronger shouts and team dynamic? Would I be a stronger tank or dmg dealer? etc etc?

Thanks so much for your time guys, I really just wanna try and pick the right 'class' from the start, as you know its a important decision in game.

Possibly one of my favorite things about Guild Wars is the liquidity. You can always change you're secondary profession and skills whenever you want, so even if you pick a secondary you don't end up liking you can change it.

I would say go with P/W, as a warrior you gain more shouts which can help the party and give you energy management. Warriors also have defensive stances you can take advantage of.

P/R would not be a bad choice either, as they have defensive stances as well (but the better of the stances are in Expertise, which you won't be able to boost). Beast mastery can be tricky if you don't use the right skill combinations with it. Also, none of their attack skills would be of any help, and very few Wilderness Survival skills can do what a Paragon can't do on his own.

P/R with pet only if you want someone else to be with you when you solo. Leadership takes into account energy gain for those who are affected by your shouts, so in a solo, you actually have 2 people (yourself and your pet).

This is not a good thing as your skill bar will at least have 2 skills devoted to your pet, and your attribute will be too displaced. Beast Mastery IAS skills do not help you.

Marksmanship has high costs, which is reduced by Expertise. A Paragon will be charged at full cost and with little energy regen, bow skills will be hurtful.

Apply Poison and Poison Antidote are nice from the Ranger side, but little else will truly benefit the Paragon.

P/W:

As mentioned before, Watch Yourself is a good energy gain skill, and you can take frenzy with little problems (since you are at range)

Warriors also have skills that give quick adrenaline gains too.

Overall, I'd choose P/W. I myself have a P/Me, for the fact that I can remove hexes from myself (since that seems to be the only thing missing from a Paragon - Hexbreaker Aria sucks).
