Wait until Thursday 19:00 GMT.
There should be news between now and then.

It sure has been quiet lately. I hope they will suprise us with something cool which keeps us playing. A Xunlai Marketplace would be a much wanted option but some new content would be wonderful. Like an area that has all kinds of rare drops but you're not allowed to bring an elite skill or PvE-only skill!

Just be happy with something and learn not to turn every thread into an anti-youknowwhatgoesherethread!!!!

And I'm also interested in the "youknowwhat" part.
Konig Des Todes
Hope 1: More Elite Areas *perhaps Dwayna, Melandru, and Lyssa realms?*
Hope 2: Marketplace
Hope 3: Name changer/Hair changer
Hope 4: Info on GW2 *GOOD info*
If its not one of those 4, idc at all.

No problem. I know what you mean.
But I don't belong to that group. I think I made a comment about Ursanway once some time ago. I don't mind what people play to have fun.

Got to agree it will probably be a double party points/booze points/sweet tooth weekend with suitable drops.
Yay...
I'd hope for much more as this will be my first GW birthday weekend, but I suspect it will be the above.
So just a weekend farming really.
The mystical marketplace would make me very happy.

I'm intrigued about the double booze points possibility, since someone found a new icon in the .dat that hints at this. I've maxed sugar and party, and am at 3600 booze (doing it the old way of 1 point 1 minute).
I don't really see how double alc points would amount to much. You'd still be sitting for hundreds of hours, and a weekend is only 2.5 days, unless the 1 minute timer was (temporarily) eliminated. But if that's the case, that's virtually what made the title so challenging -- not so much the acquisition of 10,000 alc points, but the consumption of them with the timer.
I hoped we would just know by now.......but damn they are holding on to this one........

I know last year they posted an article about the events and stuff well in advance. I'm not getting my hopes up *coughpleasegivemegw2infocough* but it's still kinda odd.

My thread was closed about the situation of this weekend still not being known.
Worse case scenario is they tell us GW2 made us get super forgetful for that other Guild Wars game.
Why would they pick Double Drunkard for a birthday event?

Well, a third Birthday Celebration page was added to the Official GW Wiki, but this simply appears to be a copy and paste of the 2nd year celebration based on the assumption that there will be a Third Birthday event (it is referred to as being pure speculation on the discussion page). Still nothing but silence from ANet tho.

New random hidden traps in all game campains and areas...
Bear trap: if you step over bear trap, for 30 min you have deep wound, bleeding, blind and crip this condictions cannot be removed until they over by time.

I have to be a downer here. I dont think we are going to get anything beyond the usual mini's, cupcakes, and nine ring event crap. To be honest they dont have any resources to put into anything special. After seeing most of the design a winner weapons, its easy to tell that they didnt put forth a lot of effort as the previous years. So i wouldnt expect any kind of extra storage, i.e. mini nor armor, or dont expect any kind of marketplace to be introduced in a late year game with a poverty economy.
After the special event weekends over March, i have seen numerous guilds get dismantled because of people are burnt out on GW. Of course there is always a new influx of newbies or returning players to keep it going.
The only thing i can say that may be producable at this late in this games life, is something about GW2. Of course i wouldnt expect it to be anything grand or amazing. I dont even expect them to keep their beta deadline.
Anything we get beyond the norm though is great. The game got drab real fast for a lot of people i know. Any special cupcake weekend will unite a few people back online. And thats always a good thing.

I actually really appreciated the fact that a Third Birthday page was added to the offical wiki, even if no official announcement has been made by ANet so far. So thanks for doing that therangereminem
In a further effort to get some answers I sent a PM to the new Community Relations manager (through a different GW forum). I tend to doubt that I will actually get a response, but it made me feel better to at least ask that they confirm that something special is planned for this weekend, even if they don't release the details till later.

It's that time again! Three years ago this Monday, Guild Wars was launched and players entered the world of Tyria for the very first time. Now, the franchise stands tall with two additional campaigns, an expansion, and an eagerly anticipated sequel on the way.
We couldn't have done it without the loyal support of each and every one of you. Whether you stepped into Ascalon in 2005 or if you've just created your first character, we'd like to thank you with a celebration in your honor.
The festivities begin on Thursday, April 24 after the live update, running until Noon on Tuesday, April 29. Read on for details about all the fun!
Thursday, April 24
After the live update, you can replay the Hell's Precipice end mission for a brand new reward.
Birthday Cupcakes begin to drop from creatures.
As an added treat, fireworks displays will start to light up the sky every hour in Lion's Arch, Shing Jea Monastery, Kamadan, and the Great Temple of Balthazar.
Friday, April 25
Starting at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT), the Boardwalk will re-open in the Shing Jea Monastery.
NPCs will provide access to Rollerbeetle Racing and the Dragon Arena from Lion's Arch, Shing Jea Monastery, Kamadan, and the Great Temple of Balthazar.
Monday, April 28
Starting at 12:01 AM Pacific, third year miniatures will become available. (Remember that birthday gifts are given all year round, so you will receive your gift on the personal birthday (creation date) of each character on your account.)
New End Game Rewards
Saving the world may be all in a day's work for some, but heroic efforts should still be rewarded. To commemorate the third anniversary of Guild Wars, players who complete Hell's Precipice (the final mission of the original campaign) will receive a Deldrimor Talisman. This end-game trophy can be exchanged for one of the new Deldrimor weapons.
As an early anniversary present, we'll open up this special end-game addition on Thursday, April 24 after the live update. Even if you've already completed the campaign, replay the Hell's Precipice mission to receive your due reward.
Let the Games Begin!
Celebrate with the good citizens of Shing Jea Monastery, who have reopened their ever-popular Boardwalk—to those who have access to Shing Jea, of course—for the anniversary celebration. Whether you're feeling Lucky or just want to kick back and have a good time, the games of chance along the Shing Jea Boardwalk will certainly have what you're looking for.
For those of you with a competitive streak, compete at the Dragon Arena and race at the Rollerbeetle Track. These unique PvP events will be accessible from Lion's Arch, Shing Jea Monastery, Kamadan, and the Great Temple of Balthazar.
Returning Rewards
If you're going to celebrate right, you need cake! Starting on Thursday, you'll find Birthday Cupcakes during your adventures, whether by defeating foes or by exchanging Victory Tokens for them.
Monday, April 28 is when the much-anticipated birthday presents begin arriving. Starting at 12:01 AM Pacific, players who have characters turning three years old will find a gift in their inventories—one of a new set of miniatures created especially for this birthday celebration. Characters turning one or two will receive a wrapped miniature from that corresponding set of past Guild Wars birthday presents. Birthday gifts are given year round, so you will receive your gift on the personal birthday (creation date) of each character on your account.
As a grand addition to our celebration, fireworks displays will light up the skies in Lion's Arch, Shing Jea Monastery, Kamadan, and the Great Temple of Balthazar every hour starting after the live update on April 24 and running through Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on April 29.
Don't miss this event. After all, Guild Wars only turns three once!
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, and wish you the best of adventures in the coming year. Enjoy the celebration!
