I am looking for a Rit focus item that is +1 to Restoration (20%), plus some other bonus. Every unique item, collector and weapon crafter pairs the +1 to Restoration (20%) together with a +30 health bonus. But I never put health or energy buffs on weapons for my Rit because she uses ashes and suddenly these stats change, often resulting in less than desired effects.
Thus, I'd like to build my own weapon focus. However, I can only find the +1 to item's attribute (20%) as an inscribable and all that is offered in focus cores are health bonuses and a bonus to casting time. I don't need a bonus to casting time and a health bonus is what I am trying to avoid. So how can I make a decent weapon focus for my Rit? My preference would be to get a combo of +1 to Restoration (20%), Halves skill recharge of Restoration Magic (20%) in my focus item, but I would settle on +1 to Restoration (20%) and something else half decent.

With my Ritualist, I have finished Prophesies and Factions, am halfway through Nightfall, am a Slayer of Demons in Eye of the North and fought my way from Becon’s Perch to Droknar’s Forge. I did all this using what I thought was a beautiful staff that also had perfect health and energy buffs. I have decided over time that I really dislike these buffs and they don’t work well with this character at all. Lately, I have switched to another model of staff without those buffs just to try it out and found that I much prefer it.
The armor buff is ok, but again not necessary since I use my ashes to provide armor when I am under attack (along with running away). I do not drop my ashes unless I want to heal the party. It would be like using the monk spell “Heal Party” on just little old me. I'd do it in a crunch, of course, but prefer not to.
Because I don’t need ‘halves casting time of spells’ and am getting away from the health/energy buffs, I guess that leaves ‘halves recharge of spells’. My ele uses HRS buffs on both focus item and wand and I would like that for my Rit, but not at the expense of +1 to Restoration magic.
I want +1 to Restoration because if I combine this with certain PvE consumables, then 20% of the time my spirits go off at a higher level (it doesn't hurt my spells either). Even with a +1 buff, “Life” jumps from 7 up to 8 health healed each second. I use the consumables sparingly but I really like them for ‘pain in the butt’ missions since I will not pay a runner to get me through, nor will I use Ursan for this character.
I don’t want to use a staff because I have Droknar’s Rit Scepter which has HRS 20% / HCS 20% and I really want to use it. I would like to combine this with a focus item that has +1 to Restoration Magic and HRS 20%. However, it looks like this is going to be hard to find so perhaps a staff is better for now. I will hang onto the other items until I can get closer to making my combo work. Someday, I will find something that will do.

You should be able to buy a gold inscribable ritualist offhand in game for 5k or less. Master of my domain shouldn't cost too much either, definitely cheaper than forget me not. A focus core of aptitude shouldn't be very much either. I doubt the total cost would be much over 10k. As long as the item drops in either Nightfall or Eye of the North you will be able to add whichever mod you want to the item. Also there's Asuran, Norn, and Vanguard weaponsmiths in Eye of the North that you can purchase inscribable items from if you have enough rank.
Yeah, I realize that the other mods have 0 effect when holding an item. However, when I am not they will help.
It is better than suddenly getting pounded on and grabbing and item for extra armor and then suddenly having 0 energy, which takes forever to go up unless I prematurely drop my item.
What's worse (but less common, I'll grant you that) is having a hex or poison draining away health and then suddenly getting pounded on, putting up the extra armor and then dying because I helped the hex or condition along by instantly subtracting 30 points off my own health. I don't like that much.
Anyway, thanks for all your help, especially Fusa.

I have a focus item that halves recharge of blood magic skills that also has an inscription slot. I also have a Mesmer focus item that is the same. Also, I probably have more in my collection that involve other attributes. I just don't have a ritualist focus of that type and simply thought that if it existed somewhere, that meant that I could build it.

Oh well. I guess I will look for 'Master of My Domain' and combine it with halves casting time, but I find that quality much more useful for elementalists.
Anyway, thanks for all your help and I guess I will give up searching for a focus item that doesn't exist after all.
