Actualy, I would. I'm curious what else such an interesting job asks of it's workers.

Don't derail the thread people. Stay on topic and contributing. And I'm going to agree with the /notsiged.

I don't see it as a "punishment" for not picking up the game the first day but certainly as a bonus for that loyalty. And no, I don't have a character that's 3 years old! I deleted my first several ones so I have a few months to wait.

Hehehe - our new CRM has teeth

For the record, /unsigned - my oldest character has 6 months to go, but that's just the way it is.

My oldest character is about... fourteen maybe fifteen months? Her birthday present was a troll. Was I dissapointed? A little, but if I want a mini I can buy it, just wait until the prices drop. Rewards for loyalty rather than punishment for tardiness, as Inde said.

(Hi Regina! It's nice to see some information, I actually had very little idea what Gaile did)

Its silly to worry about. I dont care when the shiro mini came out. I got one and went "SWEET!!!" but then again I am not trying to sell mine either. Its a birthday present. When you get your gifts on yours do you bitch that someone else got the same thing before you?

"damn Inde got a double bladed whip jimmy, before me!"

thats no joke. Last time I saw Gaile in game, retards were asking "when will we have gay and lesbian NPCS?" and other stupid questions. Some were calling her names and she took it like a champ. Some of us were reporting the real rude ones, and I think she did too. She comented "thats what they make the /report system for."

But I like Regina so far, shes like John Wayne Toilet Paper, rough, tough and dont take shit off of anyone.

Mini pets, although do get sold, are a birthday gift. They weren't put in the game for players to make money. It's just a little something extra for people who got the game when they did. If mini pet "phasing" was implemented, and everyone got different mini pets, this would make some more exclusive than others anyway, making their price higher. Either way your suggestion holds no grounds.

The reward for being some of the first to get them is being one of the first to start playing GW...

Even though I didn't know about this game until after factions came out, and my now oldest character is slightly older then Nightfall, I disagree with this as it will only mess things up more.

Only idea I can agree with when it comes to characters and presents for them would be adding something for amount of time spent *maybe some equation to use it with time playing over how much done* so that those who play more get something better then those who haven't played in a year and now got a new mini pet.

Nah, I'm usually more worried about it taking up space in my inventory. Still, I thought it would have been cool if they updated them or had a rotating selection.

If you created your character earlier, you get your present earlier.
Why on earth reward people for when they created their character? Isn't having *players* around for a long time just as important?

If I'd hated Guild Wars and stopped playing after 3 days, my account would be substantially more rewarded than it actually is. But here I am 3 years later, hardly any bday mini's received, several months until any of my current toons turn 1 and a single HoM that's bleeding me dry to fill.

But it's all supposed to be OK, because players who kept their first toons are happy?

Work, in this case, is judged on meeting a criteria that also applies to an abandoned account. You just didn't re-roll your character(s).

It's not like there's any actual reason to re-roll in a game with infinite respecs...
They're veteran rewards, get over it.

Primary character class, appearance, name, feel like a fresh start, rage-delete...

It's not a veteran reward if it applies equally to people who don't play anymore, whilst ignoring some who've played for 3 years. This issue's been bugging me for the couple of years since the first presents showed up, so I don't think I'm going to just get over it.

Anyway, I've whinged enough, I'll get out of the thread before I get smacked by Inde.

I totaly get your point.
I totaly agree that loyalty should be rewarded. However what makes the guy who bought guild wars in the early days, and did not delete his characters, but has not played ever since one month afther release, more deserving than I. I have loged over 2500 hours in 1,5 years? He just logson once a year sells his pets for 100+gazillion ectos, logsoff and sells gold on ebay. And i wont get a 3rd year mini because gw2 will be released before my character turns 3 years of age! However i logged 2250 more hours than he did!

\SIGNED.

I SAY REWARD LOYALTY. GIVE PRESENTS TO CHARACTERS FOR HOURS LOGGED AND NOT FOR JUST EXISTING FROM THE GET GO!

That way you realy reward loyalty. Dont reward ppl for parking charcters just for presents. Reward them for time spent playing the game! And dont give me that crap about rewarding the early investors. I have recruted many players by being an active player! Now thats loyalty!

Added Text:

This is my beef. Mini's are a reward for loyalty. And some ppl would argue that they are not meant to be traded. However i bought all campaigns and would like to fill my hall of monuments. How can i ever achieve this if i only started playing 1,5 years ago; considering that often you get a multiple of the same mini's per account. I have 3 whiptails and 3 hydra's, Great! I cant trade them for a pile of bones, let alone for another mini. At least make it so that acoounts dont get doubles!

I vaguely remember that. How many people ended up with those things anyways?

BTW, I've given up on the idea in part because of all of the /ns and in part because people seem to be happy getting the same old thing. Why people wouldn't want a new batch of 1st years and 2nd years is beyond me.
