Necro/Mesmer - Gravity Well
Aspenwood focused build.
-
I wanted something built around TC that wasn't n/a, just for the fun of it. It turned out to be really quite effective in Aspenwood battles so I thought I'd share. I've only tested it Kurzick side so far.
Works well in standard PvE too (see Build Variants below).
The idea is to suck them into the well (ethereal), apply pressure (conjure/TC poison), then crush with the weight of it all (AP/TC/SoS).

Skill code: OAVDEZl2StAfAcQZB7ZTVVVahA
(Regarding attribute points: I found my biting point with the rune sets I prefer, you might find a shuffle in order)
-
Equipment: Recommend 40/40 Illusion set for chance of fast ethereal recharge and accumulated cast.
-
Simple premise: hex with ethereal -> conjure -> accumulated -> deathly -> toxic -> SoS (Cast them quick so accumulated catches the health above 50% for bonus dmg). If needed, regen energy with SoLS and finish off with either of the chills. SoS works great here as there are a lot of npc dead to feed off. If loosing health, hit SoLS and retreat with Hexer's up.
Energy is never a problem. The +bonus from ethereal, soul reaping and SoLS keeps you almost constantly full.
While ethereal is recharging, use conjure+toxic chill to afflict -9 degen. It's very cheap/fast and is great to cast on the retreating and dying. You can't run from degen ;p
Hexer's is a great buff while running amber.
Can do some real fast damage if timed well. Pulled teams back from the brink of architect death more than a few times with it. With such unlimited energy, can be used to apply decent pressure to monks too.
-
Negatives: Ethereal recharge and 2second cast on accumulated in middle of chain seems a pain at first, but the combo flows nicely. A 40/40 set will alleviate.
-
Build Variants: for PvE story play, drop SoLS and bring a Rez Sig.

Feedback is more than appreciated, so feel free to rate, insult, suggest etc..

Looks interesting, should I try this or the condition spreading Virulence build posted earlier? Arrrrrrgh!
Question, you'd use Deathly Chill first - right?
Feedback: I'd lose SolS and take a rez signet when playing this in regular PVE.

Use as shown.
Place all three mesmer skills first then DC. If you time it well, the target will be just about over 50% when you hit it.

Ok, I meant aspenwood. It's late and I've had too much/not enough caffeine

Cleaned up the format a bit, added a few more pointers.
Anyone tried this out yet?

This thing looks like it can solo anything that's not a monk. I love 1v1 battles in FA
Only thing I don't get is the name. Gravity well? I was expecting it to be a build with 4 wells or something

Only thing I don't get is the name. Gravity well? I was expecting it to be a build with 4 wells or something Yeh, it kills pretty much anything 1v1. Really good fun. It can apply a nice amount of pressure to monks and rit healers too, but yes, as you can imagine, don't expect to take them down easy with it.
The names inspired by what it must feel like to be hit by this thing at full force, it's quite fun to see a war or sin charge at you only to be slowed down and crushed before they know what's hit them
