Has anyone gotten a non max Z-chest item?

Yes, I've gotten non-max, a 11-21 staff comes to mind, I'm pretty sure this is nothing new though, if you search through the zaishen chest thread I'm sure you'll see more examples

Seen a couple of 14-28 bows and 18-35 hammers from the z-chest thread sometime ago.

got bow and hammer not maxed, so yeh, nothing new. Also got purples from treasure chests in NF, nothing new...

This is odd. I waited like 2 months for the treasure chests to "refill" and I got only purple drops. It's supposed to be always a gold item, now is it?

The Nightfall reward chests degrade over time for the same character. My ranger has been getting half gold and purples the last couple of times I opened some of the chests. They will never get back to gold drops again for that character.

I've gotten nothing but junk from the z-chest, that's why I now sell all my z-keys. 2.5K each is way better than my luck.

ANY Max level source ingame has a small chance of dropping nonmax Bow / Daggers / Hammer.
I've seen them plenty of times, HoH chest, ZChest, end of FoW or Deep chest, and regular HM locked chests.
There may be more items not always dropping max, but I haven't seen any others.

I have used 10 z keys on the z chest (used all my balthy faction) and have not ONCE gotten a weapon, shield, focus, wand, staff, anything. all I got was creme brulees and firewater. NOT A SINGLE WEAPON!!!

most of the drops are gonna be cremes and flasks >< in the long run its probably best to sell all your keys.
