Diabolus Ex Machina [DEXM] is calling on all Kurzicks and Luxons to unite once more!

Yes, we are mortal enemies on the field of battle, but when a true threat arises, Kurzicks and Luxons can set aside their differences and work together against a common foe. Witness how our combined might defeated Shiro Tagachi and his Afflicted and Shiroken...twice.

Now, a new menace threatens both our peoples...indeed, all the peoples of Cantha. I refer to the successor to Emperor Kisu, Usoku, whose brutal regime is foretold in PC Gamer...

"In the year 1127 AE, Emperor Usoku, successor to Kisu, took a firm hold of his nation. He raised the Canthan military, spending millions in gold to arm his troops, and then swept the countryside. He defeated the Luxons and the Kurzick, incorporating these disparate people back into his nation. Usoku unified Cantha behind a strong national identity and began to drive out all non-humans. His regime was ironclad, tyrannical, and fierce. Those Canthans who did not agree with the emperor's dictates were given no choice but to leave their homeland, seeking refuge and sanctuary in Elona and Tyria."


We Kurzicks did not battle Shiro and his minions all the way across Cantha just so we could be assimilated into "a strong national identity". Do they expect us to dismantle our beautiful cathedrals in the Echovald? And what about the Luxons, what sort of animal shelter is going to want to adopt all those siege turtles? And is this how we say "thank you" to Talon Silverwing for sticking with us all the way into the Central Transfer Chamber? By running him and his people off? This outrage will not stand!

This is why Diabolus Ex Machina [DEXM] is inviting all Canthans to unite against unification. On Saturday, May 10, at 12 PM EST, we Kurzicks will be gathering in House zu Heltzer International District 1 to make our voices heard. We are inviting the Luxons to hold a simultaneous rally at Cavalon, so that all will be represented. The Imperialists will be left with no doubt that Canthans will not go gently into this brutal new age.

To attend the rally, you will of course need to have Factions, and be able to reach House zu Heltzer or Cavalon depending on which faction you support. Also, please be sure to display your Kurzick or Luxon title. Apart from that, there are no requirements. We invite everyone to bring their third birthday minis to show off, and also all the alcohol, fireworks, and sweets you can carry. We intend to have a good time while getting our message out.

Of course we know that ArenaNet is not going to change the GW2 storyline to suit us. This event is intended to be lighthearted and fun, to celebrate the third birthday of GW as well as the third birthday of DEXM and our website, GamersVault.net. I love this idea. I was shocked when I heard that the Kurzick and Luxon factions would be defeated in the future (as well as the Sunspears!)

The poor Sunspears, we haven't even thought of them! Maybe somebody else will rally against Palawa Joko on their behalf.

The Tengu, Dredge, and others as well as the Kurzicks and Luxons. That's why we're emphasizing that this is not an anti-Luxon event; everyone would be affected. And whatever would Master Togo say, after all the trouble he went through to end the Tengu Wars?

You can see I'm not as talented as my officer who is making other posters, but I wanted to make sure we got Talon in there. I've always wondered why they didn't make a hero of him, as much help as we've gotten from him.

I also was not aware that the Anti-Unification Rally is the same day as the Masquerade Ball, but it was a pleasant surprise to learn that Blade Radio is covering it. We're looking forward to seeing you all there!

Quick update---we're looking for the rally to last for about an hour, followed by a party in the DEXM guild hall for any and all who wish to attend, there will be fireworks.

We'll be keeping to a very loose schedule during the rally itself. I've been asked to keep any speeches short but since I've been sick this week, I'd been planning on that anyway. We would like to get as many of you with Kurzick armor and minipets together as possible for screenies, of course.

Oh, and I've been doing some calculating...we will be finished in plenty of time for the Masquerade Ball, so there should be no interference there. Which is great, because I wanna go myself.

Tanith, it seems that this weekend is shaping up to be a right old hoot!

as i said before i will try and spare some time to attend, and it is also a relief that it wont clash with the masquerade, didnt want both the events to overshadow each other.
