Hey guys I got a problem.

If I am playing Guild Wars it sometimes happens that it crashes.
The screen freezes and GW is replaying an ingame sound. I can end it by pressing ctrl+alt+del and shutdown the process

So I thought it could have been an overheating problem.
But I can just restart GW and play again for a few hours.

I play on low graphics.

Im running GW on a laptop with Vista Home Edition SP1.

It's an Packard Bell Easynote_SJ51.
Processor: AMD ATHLON 64 X2 Dual Core Processor TK55 ~1.8 GHz
Memory: 1790 MB ram
Directx 10

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 7000M/nForce 610M
Sound: Conexant HD Audio

Does anyone know what can be the problem or know how to fix it?

Try setting the CPUs affinity so that Guild Wars runs only on one core.

i've seen this... i have a super cooled 8800GTS but the game will randomly freeze... maybe once every few days... everything else is working fine and smooth... so its not the cpu or gpu load...

I had this problem too.
When you start GW, just Ctrl+Alt+Delete, then find the Gw.exe process, right click, 'Set Affinity' and then un-check every CPU except one. You have to do this every time you start Guild Wars.
I haven't crashed once since I started doing that.

Good luck!

Thnx for the reply's. It havent happened after the affinity settings yet. So i think the problem is solved.

But do I always have to set it over and over again if I start GW.exe???
