Warrior/Dervish which enchantment?
ruffenredie
So I'm a complete 'noob' with Warriors and Dervish.
I've had plans for a long while to get my sweet little Canthan Warrior to ascend and change her secondary to a dervish and I'm just about there. She's level 17, but I hardly play with her as I find the Warrior style a little bit boring (please no flames, just my low opinion - I started with mesmers).
If I haven't offended every warrior in the room, will a dervish secondary work at all? I wanted to give her an enchantment (to fit my fluff I have in my head for her), is this doable with the Warriors low energy? If it is, I was hoping for earth something, but what one?
Thanks in advance.

From the limited experience I've had playing as a Dervish and a Warrior, I'd say that having one enchantment couldn't hurt, but focusing on enchantments would result in too much of an energy drain. A reason why dervishes can maintain all the enchantments is because of Mysticism. My friends tell me that Warrior's Endurance (Elite) provides them with enough energy to spam all kinds of 10 energy skills though, so you could try it with that if you're attached to the idea. Just remember that when a dervish is stripped of their enchantments by an enemy, they also get energy from it whereas you won't. I'd suggest trying the build out on the PvP Isles with a PvP character before you actually invest in the skills in PvE.

Don't bother.
They only skills worthwhile using in /D for a Warrior, are Rending Touch and Natural Healing.

You can run an enchantment if you want, but it would be better just to pick a different secondary and run skills that are better and make use of that skill slot you are taking.

Did you see the fun builds thread down below? You could try for a Str/Scythe or a Tactics/Scythe steady stancer scytheman (I think that's what they call it
). Eh but those are pretty much gimmicks >_>.
It's probably a better idea to go with Rend Touch and Natural Heal. Which is pretty good, since if you take a look at the skills that other classes could give you: plague touch, shock, and rend enchantments.

i used to run vital boon+sig of pious light, because at 8 earth you get a 210 point heal.
ofc, that was before i became learned, now i know that it is not cool to use magics!!!

1 skill, conviction. its like mending in a stance for 5 nrg xD.
I think that using armor of sanctity can be a real boost since warriors damage-output mostly involves some condition, deep wound and bleeding.

There's a halfway decent Warrior's endurance scythe build floating around in this forum somewhere... posted by Rac methinks, but don't quote me on it.
If you're using /D on a more traditional warrior build, I've only ever found the following useful
[Rending Aura] This one is a godsend in some of the desolation HM areas - being able to pull vow of silence and life bond off multiple undead at once is very helpful. If you're not the cornerblocking type, then it probably won't be as useful.
[Rending Touch] Good at knocking off "important" protections off your target in an enchantment rich environment. Usually your nec heroes will do a good enough job with rip/envenom that this isn't needed though.

The /D secondary is certainly useable, just not for the enchants - especially the Earth stuff, which revolves around tanking and healing (lolol)
If you want to give your warrior a useful enchantment, go /E for [[conjure flame], [[conjure frost], or [[conjure lightning]
The only derv enchant I could ever see myself wasting a spot on atm is [[aura of holy might (luxon)] on a scythe-warrior; just about every other enchant isn't helping your job of killing shit (lol @ mystic regen and vital boon, for instance)

In PvE, I change to W/D for [[Heart of Holy Flame] to kill Undead. It's a cheap Holy damage conversion enchantment, and it requires zero attribute points to essentially double your damage versus Undead.

So you can spam more Power Attack?

I think that was what I did, yes. Counterattack, Power Attack...

I actually tested a build using [Vow of Strength] and did some very nice damage with [flail] + [i am the strongest] and [finish him!]
Not the greatest of builds by any means, but it did work and was kinda fun.
