What are some of the best spears and shields a Paragon can get?

Im more of a 'damage' paragon, going deep with spear mastery.

Generally, in spears, a Furious Spear of Defense, Fortitude, or Spear Mastery should be enough. Inscriptions include "Strength and Honor," "I have the power!," or "Don't Think Twice/Let the Memory Live Again." A Shield of Fortitude inscribed with "Luck of the Draw" is generally good, also. However, those aren't specific for anything, since it depends on what your build is, really.

And of course, you can always farm/buy the skin of your liking.

I would just use the standard perfect set for your weapons I use Forgotten Spear and Droknar Command Shield

Equipment really should revolve around your build so it helps to boost the effectiveness of your build. If your using any skills that inflict conditions then try to find mods or a weapon to increase the duration of these conditions. If your inflicting multiple conditions then go for a mod that lengthens the duration of the condition which lasts the shortest to make it more effective.

I use a vamp, 15^50, +30 for my primary spear, and a sundering, +5 energy, +30 spear for my secondary spear. The vamp will give more damage, but in case of death the -1 degen is a slight problem, and the +5 energy will give a decent boost.

For a shield, I would try for a q9 +30. For an inscription, I would say either reduce blind, or extra armor vs. whatever you're going to be facing. I rotate out several inscriptions on my shield depending on what I need.

Well if you use [skill]Stunning Strike[/skill] silencing is probably good, otherwise 15^50 vampiric of fortitude. Sundering one when you blind, getting blocked or just walking (unless you have a prettier to walk ). Shield +30 hp and then reduce blind or +10 armor vs the damage of the area, most likely vs some kind of AoE elemental damage.

Don't forget that Staff if you die or are lone Paragon with no other way of keeping AR than [skill]There's Nothing to fear[/skill] and either a longbow or flatbow to pull.

As with the warrior i walk around with about 5 different weapons.Vampiric Spear of Fortitude (my "default" spear) Zealous Spear of Fortitude (to get energy faster, works pretty good with IAS) Icy/Fiery/Ebon/Shocking Spear of Fortitude (when you're facing Warriors, as they're somewhat more vulnerable to elemental damage) Insightful Staff (ideally when you need energy for NOW, like reapplying [[Aggressive Refrain] and such emergencies; any staff will do, you don't need to meet the requirements.After you get what you wanted out of the Staff, change back to the spear) Furious Spear of Fortitude (this one is not really necessary, but i like my Serrated Spear ) All weapons listed (except for the staff) with a "Strength and Honor" inscription (+15^50). For the staff it doesn't matter much but probably "Seize the Day" or "Hale and Hearty".

On the shields, what Richardt says. Though, with that many weapon sets i have no room for shields so i end up getting a more generic shield for overall use (+30 HP, "Luck of the Draw") Motivation, Command, and Tactics (sometimes i mess around with P/W builds using tactics...)
