Did anyone else have problems with this? I have done it 3 or 4 times and everytime my team failed, it's because of the other team (my team was the foriegner side of it)
one time, it was because a team talked alot and let Togo died, one time was because the other team died too early and the first few times was because we got overrun but coincidentally, my team were the ones who survived the longest
This mission seems to be VERY much luck of the draw, similer to RA in a way I guess

As with all afflicted based missions, have a minion master to keep up a constant supply of meatshields (not hard, there are enough corpses for 2 (which isn't actually a bad idea)), while you blow them up with AoE. If you think that the other team is full of idiots (i.e, real people), then try camping at Togo and Mhenlo so your monks will always be in range and you have a better idea of whats happening.
fhantom
getting the mission itself isn't realy hard, just let guy whit a monk hero run to togo, to help the other team, than just make sure you have 2 or 3 MM's and you'll be ok (MM is best to have hero's because they won't let minions die, not even in movie's). the thing i hate is getting the masters reward for it, i did it about 10 times and every time i had between 25 and 27 minutes. you get masters you realy need to make sure you synchronisch whit a other party whit joining the missions (like as your guild people to help you whit making a team on other site and keep on contact when you will join)

XD the wierd thing is, we already bring one MM (Olias) but I am close to getting the second necromancer hero in Nightfall so there is an idea ^_^ two MMs

i usually do it late at night so the other team is a full team of henchies. they usually do better than a human team.

Agreed. I have dragged more than one team of lvl12-17 assassins through that mission which can be highly annoying. Especially when you are going for masters and get teamed with a bunch of halfwits slowing you down.
Or the guy who declared he hated Liv and spent the whole mission spamming me with insults aimed at her.

I used to hate this mission until I discovered that bringing a second MM was the way to go.

Add me to friends: Dargoth Alfazul
I can bring just about anything (only thing I don't have is an ele).
If you want me to bring a local or a foreign, let me know.
Honestly, I find that having an all henchie group on one side is best.

Almost all of my successful run have been this way - 1 human team, 1 all hench team.
Read the wiki page - it helps. There are quite a few bugs on this mission.
Don't feel bad. I had a Paragon I was trying to get thru this mission, and I "failed" 7 times because every time the other team either left, or let Togo die before I got to that first fight! (They'd also leave after the first fight, leaving me with just myself and 7 H&H to try to complete a 16-man mission by myself. ) Finally got someone on the other team who was running a MM build, and made it thru w/Masters!
It was because of that experience that I read up on wiki, and learned about trying to go via the International District to get an all henchman team as the other party.
A lot of people find this mission frustrating, and not because it is particularly hard, but because of the design flaws &/or forced PUG aspect of it.
Good luck, m8!

If you are going during peak times, its really up to you to have a h/h build that can finish the mission even if the other team sucks/dies. Of course, if the other team is letting togo die before you even reach him, thats just bad luck

This mission sucks for several reasons:
1) The Local Team can often get you killed before you get there.
2) Togo and Menhlo like to get stuck (I had to redo a mission because Togo and Menhlo wouldn't move out of the initial area).
3) MMs sometimes are sluggish, which can slow you down from getting Masters.
I keep on offering this Stu, but if you need a hand, hit me up. My MM Rit is almost at that mission, and can probably help synch up on the other side.

Anywhere where it's dead, yeah.
You can probably do the same in the American servers given the time difference.

I guess I've been lucky. I've had very few problems with this mission, yet I see threads like this one all the time full of horror stories.
Several times, I've gotten "stuck" where the timer will count down but the gate never opens to start the mission. If that happens, I just resign and restart.
The last time I did the mission I lucked out. I hadn't done any HM missions in Cantha yet and for some odd reason I chose this one to start on. I took my Ele to the foreign quarter and loaded up with h/h.
It was a dead time of day (about 6am Sunday morning) and I was the only live person in the district. Perfect! I can test my build and try out HM without worrying about messing up another team. I warp in and start the mission. Mhenlo and I were making good progress against the Am Fah when I start seeing "pings" from other humans. Stuff like "Le pwnage is attacking Afflicted Elementalist". Uh oh. Humans!
Well I stuck it out and was glad I did. The team on the other side was 2 Frenchmen with a full complement of heroes. They had 2 mm's on their side and I had 1 with me. It turned out that my team build was quite good and the French knew what they were doing. We finished the mission in about 20 minutes and earned masters. A very good experience.
Stuart if you still need help here, give me a shout ingame. If I'm not busy I'm willing to help. I haven't done this one in awhile, but I think it's a fun mission. I usually play in the evenings around 8-10pm EST.

MM + AoE damage + Prioritize targets = win
This mission is very doable even with H/H

The mission itself is straightforward and easy, take an MM or two and you're golden. It is dealing with monkeys who let Togo/Mhenlo die or are way too low a level to be there that causes the problem.
Stuart444
got it done today, had two healers, two MMs, a ranger, a elementilist, a mesmer and a warrior
easy, specially since the other team was henchmen only

I keep missing the Master's by . . . 0:30 to 0:45, or simply failing due to Mhenlo thinking he's a tank.
I dunno if it's just me but simply destroying the construct NEVER ended the mission for me. I always needed to utterly wipe every red dot before it triggered a mission end.

Oddly I always had trouble with this mission when dealing with other human players. I recommend you go to a ID and do the mission with a full HENCHMEN party, I always managed to finish with a good 5 mins to spare doing that.

So bad they were that they wiped at the second last area so my party of H/H had to take on both swarms of Afflicted (no deaths but it was a epic battle).
In the end I missed out on masters by 7 seconds.
I redid it in HM and cruised through with no deaths on my side. It's sad when a complete group of henchman in HM is more competent than a group of real-life players in NM
Widowmaker
Almost exact same experience as blue.rellik.
Did masters last night in HM with 5 minutes to spare.
Sad when HM is much easier than NM because you can almost guarantee you'll be alone in HM.

Yes, its very true that HM is easier because you can guarantee a henchie team for yourself on the other side.
Apart from that, i dont see how its very difficult in NM..
Me + guildie did it together.. ran Sabway + Ractway. The other team died off completely and we still got masters.

For me, the hardest thing about doing this mission is trying to get into it with no human player(s) on the other team. I tend to run into players that go afk or quit or resign.
So now I do it, and Unwaking Waters, in the Asian district where you have virtually the whole game to yourself - no lag, no spam, very few other players.
Minion Masters are a great help; load them up with a couple of fast recharging animate skills. Park yourself near Togo, but keep an eye on where Mhenlo is. He thinks he needs to attack enemies. Unfortunately, when they attack him back he either dies or runs straight to you bringing that pack of enemies with him. That's his standard MO anyway.
Glitches? This mission is full of them and you may have to restart even when there are no other humans in the mission besides yourself. I recently had Togo not move after the first battle because he was waiting for a peasant to turn into an Afflicted and the peasant never did.
One last thing about this mission: Just in case you think you might EVER be interested in a Cartography title, run along the walls on the left after the last battle all the way to the end of the mission. You'll uncover a large chunk of territory. You won't have to take a character back to visit the lovely Vizunah Square and you won’t need to get into the Jade Quarry.

Someone's going to love me when I finally get to this mission and take my MM Rit though it from the local side.
Parson Brown
Hardest part for me is trying to get Mhenlo and Togo to actually MOVE. They love to hang in doorways and have conversations or throw heals at other NPCs.
Last guild run missed master's by 4 seconds! and included at least 3 minutes of us all standing around wondering if Mhenlo was ever going to move (and yes, we moved the MMs far ahead so Mhenlo doesn't stand there healing the minions!)

I wasn't fast enough to do this mission with just one mm, when i brought two mm it was smooth sailing.

I'll be doing this soon (possibly as early as tonight) with my assassin, I even went and got Olias straight away once I got to Kaineng just for the MM help ^_^

I prefer to go and get Liv for new characters, considering you need to get to the docks and then train Olly up, I just prefer the run to Gadd's and then Finding the Bloodstone.
And Liv is a hell of a lot easier to look at than ol' ugly.
I took my assassin through the other night with no MM and still came in with about 3 minutes to spare, so it is perfectly possible. Hate to think how fast it would have been with a Moebius/Death Blossom assassin.

Choose an odd district - Asia/Traditional Chinese, and use a H/H team and hope for a full non-human team on the other side. Easiest win for that mission.
Ah, Minion Master ftw. Hell, even take a Wells Necro as well...plenty of bodies.

I tried this mission last night (local) and it was so easy for me.....
the human player from the foreign one though was only level freaking 5 and had an all henchman team, while I had vekk, odgen, olias and henchman (spirt, earth, healer and fighter)
he didn't do much in the first fight but in the second fight, I think he tried to help and got lucky (as in surving, he got lucky >_> ), I did so much better with my assassin than I did with my warrior (death blossom FTW )
however the fun came to an end, just before the last battle, Togo got stuck and we couldn't face the last battle because of it so I have to start the mission again >_< good thing is though I didn't know you could get Shadow form in that mission til I looked on wiki so I will get that this time.
I want to try raptor farming with this sin....this way I can try and learn how to do it and it won't ciost me anything unlike the underworld >_< (I made this assassin before the Shadow form buff so don't think I made it just for farming purposes like some probably have <_< )
edit: just did it, got both shadow form and beat the mission on masters with a full henchman team, I had to flag Olias away just to get mhenlo to stop healing >_<

Ugh.
I went though it twice yesterday. One local with my MM Rit, and once foreign with my Paragon.
The paragon group suffered from a dumb foreign team that outran Togo at the beginning so he sat there till I called the team back. We finished in just over 27 minutes.
My Rit's local team suffered from a bad PUG guy who tried to outrun the group, and got himself killed. My first clue should have been that he wanted to take 2 monks in addition to my henchie monk. The foreign team wasn't great either. 2 MMs (me and Olias), a nuker Ele, and a good monk build wasn't enough.
next time, I'm throwing Charge on somebody, just so we can speed up the walking parts.

i had a foreign team, using my three heroes and four players. we got an all hench local team. this is on my survivor paragon, btw.
no one was ever close to dying. but ... we missed master's by 9 seconds. mostly because i forgot to bring a stance-removal skill to kill the am fah assassins and we were mostly physical damage. also, minion masters -- while helpful -- slow things down quite a bit. my heroes were a jagged bones minion bomber using bone minions with dwayna's sorrow from healing prayers, a spiteful spirit/order of pain/barbs necro, and an ether renewal prot. E/Mo. was all the healing we needed, along with my imbagon using WY! instead of SY!

Mmm, Mhenlo still thinks he's the tank at the second Afflicted ambush . . . trouble is, some weeks ago it seems like all the henchmen and heroes AI went completely retarded and they lock onto the FIRST target they see and will NOT retarget. If that target happens to be lower/higher and require walking around and up a stair or ramp . . . they go halfway there, come back, and bounce between until I leave the area behind.
Has anyone else experienced this, or do I have an unproducable problem on my hands?

Has anyone else experienced this, or do I have an unproducable problem on my hands? Yeah - I've noticed that, though I don't know if it's particularly new behavior. Jin, as well as Devona, would leeroy half-way across my radar to attack red dots that weren't even part of the mob we were engaging. (This wasn't in Vizunah, though - just in general.) The AI gets weird every few weeks or so - monks just standing there with a full bar, full energy, watching, or healing party members who are only down 20% while the one down 90% gets ignored. Stuff like that.

Has anyone else experienced this, or do I have an unproducable problem on my hands? If there were players on the other team, its possible the h/h were following the attacks of a player on the other side? We know hench will follow the other team and respond to their calls, though I think your heroes are supposed to prioritize what you are doing. I would guess if a h/h tried to respond to a player on the other team they would try to run to the target, but about halfway would then run back to you because they always follow the controlling player.

Also having a MM helps a lot! Agree completely. At least one MM helps majorly. I've always done better with henchmen secondary group mainly because they know where to go and actually do so. I also like starting from the Local Quarter, but everyone has their own likes and dislikes on where to start.
It may also be helpful to have an interrupter in case you get the Afflicted Ritualist, Elementalist or Monk bosses.

I was capping the Assassin elite in NM (local quarter) and the other team was full hench, but after the fight and they delivered Mhenlo they all ran back to their start area. Did not see them again.
