Log In/Out Oddity
Tatile
Since I first joined GWGuru, way back in '07, I've been logged in, in a somewhat permenant manner.
I could exit Firefox, turn Skippy off and come back the next day and still be logged in. Now, I'm not sure whether this was a function of Firefox or this site, but it worked well.
Until Saturday (19th) when I had to log in. Not a problem, my password is easily remembered. The thing is, I haven't changed any settings with Firefox or Skippy and the only recent change is a new router for the LAN.
I'm just wondering if there is anything anyone could suggest to remedy this, as I have little idea what the problem is (hence why I've posted here, should a mod feel it's in the wrong place, please move it ). It's annoying to constantly re-log in, and the pop-ups, while necessary, are annoying.
Thanks.

I had the same issue, I too had to log back in despite having Remember Me checked.

I'm seeing this as well, in both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Its almost as if Guru isnt setting a cookie, forcing you to login each time you come back to the site. The problem is that it forces you to see the popup adds whenever you come to the website...sure, its only for a moment while you arent logged in, but its annoying...

It's setting a cookie, as I checked it just now.
The cookie may be expiring sooner than it did previously though. That's the only thing I can figure.

I'll check my cookie settings again, as that may in part be the problem.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one, but it is also a little disconcerting.
Edit: Gave it another go, had to log in again. Annoying, as the 'Remember Me' funcion keep getting un-ticked.

Is this fixed already?
I was having the same problem all weekend, but when I got online today I was actually logged in.
Nevermind, I came back from work and was logged out again.

Same issue here, but happened with more websites I visited....guess it's some firefox sort of problem...

IE also does this to me. Logs me out of other forums, webmail, etc. I think that's because the IP lease is only three hours, so when it renews the IP address, the cookie is basically invalid.
So it may not have anything to do with your machine. It could just be DHCP messing with you.

This happened to me over the weekend with IE.
Hasn't done it since Sat. though.

Well, it seems to have been fixed. I'm not sure if it's a setting that got reverted in Firefox (cookie keeping and expiration), or something to do with the site.
Thanks to all that replied though
