DVDF - is this one of the AB playing guilds? I heard the tag named several times before, but frankly I don't know them.
Don't know about them ABing, but I do know they have lots of mesmers, and they do quite a bit for the community (preparing meals at dragon festival in many districts, their recent UW competition, etc).

The only name I recognize of the two you list is LBS. The other I have never heard of outside this board. Aside from LBS, the other name I think many old timers would recognize is MQM.

Well, I think Im well recognized...I have played for 3 years and talk to almost everyone. ^^

and when it comes to well known guilds, though I think they got disbanded *doesnt know*, I would think Boat. Those guys were awesome, especially that one party they hosted at the temple of balthazar...wow that was cool.

Btw, age does not equal knownness in guilds. I have had my guild since Feburary 05 beta and we are so tiny, I don't know how we have lasted so long besides my stubbornness. ^^"

Totally dependant on where you play and things.
Saying that, i can't get away from Luke Connoly and Slinky of Doom.

"fame" in a pve guild is something that makes me giggle, cause honestly, pve guilds are meant for playing the game, enjoying the game, and enjoying the game with friends, nothing more, if i want fame and competition and noteriety i guest for a pvp guild, saying that SMS or LaZy or XoO are famous is kinda funny, cause aside from this forum SMS has no other one thing that would define them as famous, the fact that the way forum administration rights given are rather askewed by whether or not you are in SMS is what makes them famous.. that and racthoh came out with a few good builds, wooptey dooptey, don't see me having a mini party over the fact that there may or may not be people in the game playing my builds. as for LaZy, they are the epitamy of what pvpers steriotype pve guilds to be like simply because their mass recruiting, mind you their core are some very good players, but the mass recruiting in any alliance never helps, which quite simply put is what gives XoO a bad name as well, much like the guild i'm currently in, yes there's a good core of good players, but in the end it's the bad players everyone remembers. (i.e. 99 of your guildies can be open heart surgey doctors saving lives every day but one of them makes a living kicking babies and you'll forever be known as the guild full of baby kickers).

So in short, in this game, there really is no "famous PvE" guilds, but more so guilds with massive alliance or exploitive control over a forum so much so that you can't escape them that makes them known... it's not fame, it's that they're everywhere and you can't get away from it.

Guys this is a fun thread! Not a thread to get jealous over and say "I never herd of him so he iz not famus." Or "1 memb0r mad3 gud bild so wai dey all famus?"

Just simply state what guilds you thought have always been good and leave it at that. Dont just get jealous if your guild isnt exactly known!

now on topic:

-I only joined SMS recently in the middle of March but before that I have always kind of looked at them as a more elite group of PvE'ers. I have always also seen rare to look pretty good as well.

-As an individual I always remember Akhilleus since he was always so rich but that is a result of heavy power trading. O where o where did he disappear to?!

-SNOW guild

-Definetly cant forget Komali's Protector [oOo] as their Urgoz times have impressed me

That are some of the guilds/people i have thought to be pr3ttee 1337.

Oh, I'm not jealous, I'm pointing out that after almost 3 years of playing this game, the names/guilds being submitted as "famous in PvE" were in fact, not known to me until I came to this forum. Don't be insulted just because no one's ever heard of you, or your guild.
I've thought of another..Jack McDaniel's..aka The Krytan Bomber. Now that's fame.

This forum is where all the pve guilds have claimed their 'e-fame' with the exception of XoO and LaZy just because they're fcking gigantic.

For being good at the game I'd say a lot of TAM players. Even if they aren't famous or whatever they actually have good players. I know there's some decent ones in SMS, and the average skill level of the guild increased immensely when Alex left. lolol.

In conclusion the best pve guild ever is Jagr closely followed by hawk smash and guild wars nomads
